Like I said before, anybody can look good hitting a heavybag since heavybags don't punch back. I have seen many guys think they were the toughest guy around since they could bang on the heavybag like you, but when I got them in the ring with a boxer to spar, it changes everything when they get punched back.
You don't win bouts against heavybags, only against other boxers.

This youngster has way too many flaws to put him on video. All you are going to do is discourage him if he sees these replies. Please take some advice: Put all of your efforts into getting this kid in shape and learning some sound technique and fundamentals. The kid needs alot of work. Not to say with hard work he can't do something.
Baby steps.
Good Luck and take care.

Yes, you did. Next time we will heed your warnings. It amazes me that someone with such limited talent/skills would even consider posting these videos and proclaiming himself a champion. The record he claims must be in the "backyard brawls" type of thing. I could not see this kid winning 80+% of his bouts if they were actually sanctioned bouts. I know a bunch of 165# boxers who would destroy this kid. My novice boxer from the 2006 Golden Gloves was 0-0 before the tourney and 5-0 afterwards. He would have defeated this guy easily. Remember that this alleged "champion" is 18 so he is in the senior class and with his alleged "record" he would have to box in the open class.amy wrote:I tried to warn you guys.
Hal - how do you think this 18 year old would fare against Fernando or Shawn?
I doubt he could make it out of the first round - probably would not last a minute.
No, most people responding seem to think hes bad as well, and we already know your opinion on the guy but you asked for other peoples thoughs and the general consensus is= NOT GOOD, so if you think hes a 4 I think you need to learn more about boxing.OmlBrgd wrote:well, also the one who voted 1 is stupid, because this guy is very good for 18 y.o. Serbian boxer! I think 4, at least 3 is his rating

I had a kid one time that was so fast and so slick when he shadow boxed that everyone who came in the gym was just wanted to watch him. Then he would gear up and and everyone watched as he completly feel apart. He only had one fault, he couldn't fight worth a dam. He should haver been a dancer cause he could mimick any move a look great at it. But Oh if they have a shadow boxing contest this kid would crush. How I wish you all could have seen him. Please forgive me if my sarcasm is bleeding through, I am trying my darnest to keep it real.

To me the issue here should be does this kids coach believe in him. And if he does what difference would it make what anyone thought. That's how I would feel and therefore wouldn't care about anyone's opinion and wouldn't have the time or want to post my boxer doing anything. Encouragement for this boy is a good thing as is necessary, but it should be coming form his coach. If my boxer knew that I was looking for feedback from the internet to determine how much potential he has, he would probably leave me, and I would give him credit for being intelligent enough to do so.
