It has been nearly three weeks since my injury and I want to thank you for your heartfelt concern. It’s a terrible way to know that you are remembered, but the response has been unbelievable and quite overwhelming. I have had non-stop telephone calls, e-mails and faxes from all over Australia and all around the world. I sincerely thank you for taking time to send me your message of support.
There is no need to worry about me. I’m fine. The surgery to my face went very well and only time will tell if there will be any permanent scarring. At times like this I look to the Team Fenech slogan and one that I have lived my life by, "Tough times don’t last, tough people do."
These young kids who attacked me need some guidance and a good talking to and hopefully through this they are going to learn to have respect for everyone.

I’m also back training my boys at Team Fenech in Marrickville and am looking forward to an even bigger year with them in 2004.
