Thickest skin in Boxing

Post by Robinson »

Love him or hate him you would have to agree that don King has one of the thickest hides in boxing.

EVERYONE hates him at one stage and has more than enough negative to say about him. Yet he atleast appears un-phased and survives.

Never associated with cleanliness and moral business practices he has still been involved in some of the sports best fights.

He puts on some great cards. The best promoter of my lifetime. And why shouldn't he smile? He's making money every which way. He even got his conviction for stomping that other hood to death over-turned, didn't he? And I read they have renamed a street in his honour in his hometown.

I'm a promoter of the people for the people and by the people and my magic lies in my people ties. I'm a promoter of America. I'm American people. You know what I mean? So therefore, uh, do not send for who the bell tolls 'cause the bell tolls for thee.

Did King say that, Collins? Surely not. A so-called master of linguistics would not stoop to such levels as to commence a sentence with, 'So,' would he? :o

It didn't sound like the master to me either but it was the best i could find in a 5 minute search. Don't forget I am playing ping post with both Boxbuzz and granberry-terap at the same time as making semi-sensible posts. Not bad for a stinking maggot, huh? :TU:

I would particularly welcome any quotes from The Don that show him in full flight.
