It's a legit question. I also said as they are now, not in Vargas's prime. Vargas is 100% shot.

Pipino Cuevas vs Carlos Palomino, 1977
Damned good match-up here....Cuevas would more than likely win this shindig, but I'm partial to Palomino...I see Palomino winning the decision :TU:

Anyways.....Rocky Marciano, vs Bob Satterfield, 1956 :box:

Marciano gets the nod, but is bloodied and breathing hard. Retirement talk is almost immediate.

Bonavena all the way :TU: Ringo was never given his props, he was right up there as one of the great contenders who could have been a champion in any other era.

Gerry Cooney vs Gerrie Coetzee (WBA title); had Cooney opted to fight Coetzee rather than Holmes, 15 rounds :box:

Tough pick since Coetzee was so inconsistent. Could have been a Cooney 1st round blowout or Coetzee winning a beat-down in about the 12th round. I would go with the later.

D10

Both look terrible, Frazier has it with the power shots and pop. Ali looks the part, but has
timing issues. He can not find the range. Four looong years have changed alot.

I'm going to go with Young to outslick Spinks.

Young by close but clear UD.

Moore catches up with Conn, trapping him on the ropes early in the 12th round. Conn is in real danger.
He lasts the round, almost crashing to the canavs.

Moore manages to land a hard shattering cross and two left hooks that sends Conn down.

Conn was leading on two judges cards by two rounds. Though he is soundly counted out.

Moore KO 13.

Hmmmmm.... tough one.

I don't think Fenech at 126 had quite the firepower as he did at 118 and 122, IMHO.

I'll take Arguello by TKO in 14, after a terrific nip and tuck battle.

Two legendary power hitters...unfortunately neither one had that power when they moved on up to heavyweight, unless the competition was weak and/or unranked (Spinks-Cooney for example)...but I've always been more partial to Bob Foster, he was the first man to cut Ali and hell he knocked out the legendary Dick Tiger...Spinks just out pointed an older Larry Holmes...I see Foster winning by kayo inbetween the 12th and 15th rounds... :box:

Calzaghe has too much for the old, faded version of Leonard that was a supermiddle. Heck, Calzaghe might even be the faster man at this point.

Calzaghe punishes Leonard en route to a clear UD win.

Hagler would have to run and dance like hell, but he might just be able to do it.

I'll give Hagler the edge on a close decision.
