The database lists Rodolfo Moreno as the opponet for former world-rated featherweight Art Hafey on 3-11-76 in LA. I watched that fight although I don't recall Moreno being introduced as making his pro debut against the world- rated Hafey with over 50 pro fights. Moreno had Hafey down and nearly out and both fighters were fighting with vision in only one eye near the end. Hafey came roaring back to knock out Moreno with a booming left hook in the 10th and final round.
I was surprised to find out it was Moreno's pro debut. But is that right? He is listed as losing all 7 of his fights by knockout but his loss against Hafey was nothing to be ashamed of. Could an unknown like Moreno do that good in his pro debut against a world-rated warrior like Art Hafey or is it possible that Moreno had fights in his native El Paso (perhaps under another name) that aren't reflected in the database?
Does anyone out there know?
