Atomic Onyango Vs Allan Gronfors

Post by Jabjab »

According the video footage of the fight, the referee in the 4th round examined Gronfors' injuries and okayed him to continue boxing. However in the 5th round, followed on his opponent's cuts and worked on Gronfors with stiff jabs and swift right hands. Gronfors continued bleeding and after realizing that he could not continue fighting, he called out the referee and said he could not continue boxing.

As far as pro-boxing rules are concerned, a fighter refusing to continue fighting even if after the doctor said he would continue fighting, such a boxer looses on Technical basis to his opponent. However the Finland authorities declared the fight a TKD in favour of Gronfors.

The issue here is that the referee did not stop the fight, the doctor did not advise Gronfors to quit the fight, and we would like the issue to be revisited.

Any body has any facts about this fight??? Or anyone who has seen the video please enlighten us

I am quite familiar with the way they treat African boxers when ever they travel abroad.they are always opponents unless they knock someone out
It's high time the boxing world need to be neutral.I have heard about more complaint about boxers not only from Africa but even south America complain about poor decision.
As for Onyango's case,i believe it's better you people pursue the matter.By the way it's well over six years since this fight took place.
Are you panning to bring him back to the ring?
What's the point of interest here?Allan is long retired and i hope maybe you can get some justice.

PEACE :box:

of late the heavier divisions in the local pro boxing scene has become somewhat colourless . . Onyango has kept him self in shape and is considering returning to competitive boxing...soon . . . could add some excitement to the scene
