It's a good match-up. I would go with Michael Moorer because at light-heavy he was getting people outta there.

Good fight. I see either guy winning at HW. BUt I like MM at LHW.

That speed and accuracy would do a number on Toney. Not a KO,
but a cool dec win for MM>

Moorer was a beats at LHW & I don't see Toney matching his power at the weight. However, barring a lapse in concentration or Toney getting careless, I think James would be too smart for Moorer to win by KO/TKO.

Moorer wins a decision though. Good fight actually.

Going back to Moorer at LHW, I remembering seeing a picture of him & Tyson standing together back in the day & Moorer looked bigger. Obviously taller, but actually bigger aswell.

What credits does Toney have at light-heavy? Losses to Montell Griffin and Drake Thadzi?

Moorer outworks him & keeps JT honest with his fierce punch power.

Toney's brief foray into the 175 lb weight class was the low point of his career, despite the fact that I think if he'd been disciplined, 175 was the perfect weight for his frame. Pitting the Toney of the Griffith fights vs Moorer, and Moorer outworks James to a UD.

A PEAK 168-175 Toney . . the guy who wiped out Barkely, Littles, and Hembrick, I say Toney wins a decision with a possible late fight KD, considering Moorer's fragile chin.

Moorer is unproven at this weight while he did stop everyone at 175 his competiton was terrible and he cut a huge aount which would have probably effected his cardio in a long war. As long as Toney comes in great shape which is always a big "if" he should outbox Moorer to a wide decision.
