There are some pretty exciting times around for the 140-147 mixup at the moment, but is 122 actually the hottest division in boxing? Vasquez, Marquez, Caballero and Lopez, with Molitor, Ponce, and Gonzales circling just below, there are surely some thrillers in the making matching these guys against eachother?
It's all quality, and from what I've seen, the styles would make for interesting, exciting fights, too.
Thoughts?
Super Bantamweight
Re: Super Bantamweight
It's definitely a tasty looking division, I hope a fight between Vasquez and Caballero comes off in the new year.
Re: Super Bantamweight
Super Bantam is the most exciting division in boxing right now. So many guys in the mix with a great blend of styles and experiance. I'd like to see some of the other guys get a crack at Vasquez/ Marquez right now, just to see what those guys have left. Lopez looks unbeatable right now though and I'd back him against any of the guys at super bantam, including Vasquez, which is the fight I most want to see out of all the great potential match-ups.

I'm not knocking the original poster, of course- but this is the British forum, so lets talk about British superbantams as well !
Some really good fighters in that division, too, Munroe being the leading light! Depending on how he does on Thursday, he might be at the fringe of some World Title level bouts.

Re: Super Bantamweight
Bernard Dunne is supposed to be targeting a world title next year.
OK, which title is he waiting to get vacated?
Rendall Munroe's a hard little battler but world level seems far above him. Will Joe Murray be a super bantam when he turns pro?

Re: Super Bantamweight
Monroe should be given the oppurtunity to prove himself though, he can't keep on at Euro level, hopefully he gets another couple of learning fights, then an eliminator against a decent world boxer.
I wouldn't want to see him chucked straight in against one of the top guys like Caballero or Lopez.
I still think we've not seen the best of Monroe yet, and he can become a world contender
