Sam Soliman V Daniel Geale

Post by toppity »

just heard on the radio it's slated for early next year.

Good test for the IBO champ. Will Geale be sharp enough to catch Sam?

It's the right weight for Sam...will it be his last roll of the dice on the big stage?

about time geale steps up and tests himself

i predict sam to win by a wide decision, wouldnt be overly surprised if sam gets a rare ko here either

probably a bit optimistic of me to think sam gets the ko, but i really think hes class will shine through in this fight, it definitely will be good to see soliman at 160 again.

also i thought these 2 were good friends and said they dont want to fight each other

I guess that Geale has something Sam needs if he wants any chance at getting another payday, Sam has 12 round experience that geale needs if he wants to move up into the upper echelon..

good fight for Sam. I see him winning a decision. Whilst I commend Geale for taking the fight I find it a strange opponent for him. Sams style makes even the best look very average. I thought maybe a more orthodox opponent would have been better (but Mundine would never accept a challenge like that). Sam does have that international "name" though. A good fight, just see Sam having too much for him.

Great to see another good Aussie match up, and great to see Geale taking a step up.
I think it's a bad match up for Geale, Sam will make him look like am amateur.

It seems at least some people in Australian boxing are starting to do the right thing. IF this happens it will no doubt be a great fight. There is also no doubt that this is Soliman's last roll of the dice and it will be great to see him back at 160. I don't think too many people would argue that Geale is on the rise while Soliman is on the slide. If either man truly wants to perform on the world stage in 2009 they must win this fight. I hope they put a good undercard with it and make it a real spectacle of Australian boxing!

geale to win a controversial decision if this fight happens, sams style always makes fights hard to score and geale is the prospect, so expect him to get the judges in hes favour.
although if sam has anything left, he is clearly the best fighter geale has faced and could completely outclass him, good to see oz's best fighting each other, just need a bit more of it now

Sam respects Geale highly & has labelled him world class. If Geale wins it would be an awesome platform FOR 2009..If Geale beats SS & Then Choc,I see him taking on Sturm end of 2009

I doubt Geale really rates SS.

Geale steps up to suit his opponent. He demolished Dawson and will go into this fight with the same confidence.
However,This fight is just talk at this stage.

This fight if goes ahead would be good publicity for Geale which would please choc for any possible future fight. :DD :box:

I can see Sam winning a UD on this one. I just think that Daniel has not had the tough international opponents.
Anyway it's WBO, In the seventies we had Commonwealth title fights every 3 months where the opponents were more than worthy for a WBO title, as far as world rankings went.
