Every list always omits the best chin of all time.

Ignacio Ara, top middleweight contender, European and Spanish champion was never stopped in a 175 fight career.

This is a non-pound-for-pound listing, though.

Mcall, Flush hits from Mike Tyson couldn't bother him much enough for him to be Tyson's sparring partner and never been dropped. I wonder why Holifield is not on this list?

Holyfield got wobbled badly by Bert Cooper and went down. Bert was never that harder puncher all his ko's where againt very soft opposition. And Bowe KO Holyfield in there 3rd fight. Id say Pinklon Thomas had a better chin IMO. If it was HEART Holy would be on the list for sure.

You're going to factor sparring sessions in your reasoning?

Seriously?

I think one should have been added to the list.

ALI
He won more fights by being able to take big punches than any boxer.

If a write-in vote is acceptable, he would get my vote.

Foreman, Frazier, Holmes & the like are not realistic contenders for the best chin of any HW.

I'm guessing you've never watched any Holmes or Foreman fights.

He did not leave himself as open while hunting for the kill,
seemed to develop more strength, as he trained for this
and he had better defensive skills.
He seemed to be more relaxed, and had better wits and
experience which helped him to stay more resilient, as an
older fighter.

Though, as we now version 1.0 was no slouch and took
some hard n heavy shots.

Greatest HW chin of all-time? These guys? I'll give you the benefit of the doubt & imagine you read it as my saying they have average chins. To suggest Larry Holmes or George Foreman had a chin on-par with the likes of George Chuvalo, Tex Cobb or Oliver McCall is laughable.

A poor read on your part, or worse?

If you're mentioning Mike Tyson, yes seriously. Mike probably wasn't a professional enigma of a sparring partner. McCall was Mike's sparring partner really based on his ability to take a punch. No on notoriously have that claim.
