Jaewon Kim

Post by MattMan1998 »

Does anyone know this guy's record? He is a minimumweight(strawweight). He is rated in the top 10 by all 4 major sanctioning bodies, but I cant find his record here on boxrec. Thanks for any info.

OPBF Champion Jae-Won Kim claims to have a record of 15-1-1 (5 KOs).

My own notes can only confirm 8-1 (3
KOs).

Thanks to you both. Now I am more confused about him lol. Jae-Woon Kim, by boxrec's database, is 5-2 which isnt close to the 15-1-1 or the 8-1-1. There isnt a record, on this database, of a Jae-Won Kim only Jae-Woon Kim.

All the fights (except maybe the first one) are confirmed to be Jae-Won Kim's so I went ahead and changed the name in the database. I
also added a few more fights that I had.
The 1992 Ala Villamor fight is against an opponent spelled Jae-Woon Kim. It could be the same guy since the weight fits, but I have my doubts. It doesn't make a lot of sense to send down a future prospect to the Philippines to meet one of their hottest prospect at the time. Villamor being undefeated in 21 bouts prior to this blowout.
Hopefully Anibal from Fight Fax will request the complete record of Jae-Won from the Korean Box.Com. by year's end otherwise it'll be very difficult to complete this one.
ANYBODY WITH CONNECTIONS IN KOREA?

By the way,
I spoke to some of my Korean students today and they informed me that the name Woon doesn't exist in Korea so the report of a Jae-Woon or anybody else "Woon" is just a misspelling (sp?) of Jae-Won, etc.
