Carlos Palomino versus Oscar De La Hoya

Post by Manos de Oro »

Yes, De La Hoya hasn't retired yet, but surely he is at the tail end of his career. So let's put him in a time machine and send him to the front entrance of LA's Grand Olympic Auditorium sometime in the late 70's. A hometown welterweight unification match between two Mexican-American 'golden boys'.

3000+ seats, $1000+ a ticket, who wins?

Oscar De La Hoooooyaaaa.

Don't get me wrong I liked Palomino I though he deserved his title, but Oscar I think is too strong.

Same here, I go for Oscar UD 115-113. Both great thinking fighters, but I think Carlos' pensiveness would let De La Hoya's busier hands nick the rounds. Would have been a good fight.

De La Hoya Vs. Palomino

I think that Oscar De La Hoya beats Carlos Palomino
handily. De La Hoya had to big advantage in terms of
ability and boxing skill.
