Undated bouts policy

Post by delisa »

I see many bouts entered today that are listed as date unknown.

At this stage of Boxrec's life, I think any undated bouts should be accompanied by a source so we can evaluate the validity of the bout.

Absolutely! :TU:
I would go with a reference field because putting it in the wiki would still allow tampering. :o

One good thing about Wiki is that you can at least observe vandalism as it is happening and fix it. Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to get rid of the vanadlizers!

Unknown dates

In some cases, like the Argentine Pugilistic Guide, it consists the year and the order of the bouts, but not the day and the month. And sometimes it is made difficult to know the day exact, but if it is not entered thus, there is no way, with some fighters.

Yes -- especially with latin america, information is hard to come by.

evertheless, if a bout is entered withou a firm date, the source can still be noted in the Bio/wiki or on the bout itself.

For example, I recived a nice letter from andres figueroa regarding bouts he recently added to Est. Loayza. He gives his source, and I agree the bouts should be added to boxrec. I suggested he add his source to the bio.

I think we are all in agreement then?
