Irene, help us understand your insinuation of insult that lies within the bolded statement in which you replied with the words "oh dear".

Tyson easily, he never really beat a top class fighter and when he did, albeit a bit past it, he got exposed. Ali beat some great fighters before and after his exile

I sense a confusion.

Ali has been raised to such a level of assumptive respect, that perhaps no fighter truly deserves. He was perhaps the very best HW of all time, But no one else has defeated Superman...(Comic book...anyone remember this?) So the inflation factor for him has to be hard to top.

Tyson? The shine has come off of his career rather profoundly, but for anyone still rating him in the top three, he may well give Ali a run for high expectations beyond the capacity of mere mortals.

These days I'm not so sure he remains all that over rated. I suspect some are now beginning to rate him too low as punishment for his bad behavior. It's hard for the general population to maintain a non biased attitude.

This may start a mini-riot, but I've always suspected the Brown Bomber is a little overrated.

I am glad that irene and saad can see through the Ali smoke and mirrors and can see Ali's career for what it was; a media manufactured fraud perpetrated on a gullible public.

Yes. Ali has the bigger rep by far, but he also has the greater claim to fame by far. It's arguable.

Joe Frazier sure doesn't agree with you

The mercurial, "Mr. Louis" is his number-one in history.

I wouldnt hold my breath mate!

Irene doesnt work on facts he prefers working on his own conceited opinion, no matter how much it contradicts the facts.
Ali kayoed Foreman and Liston two of the toughest HW's ever and stopped men like Lyle and tore others faces to shreds such was his slashing power. But Irene will still bark "he couldnt punch for shit" in that eloquent aussie manner of his! :DDD :TU:

Ali's the more over-rated and annoyingly it's people of my generation doing it >_<

You obviously don't realize that the reason Ali was arrested wasn't simply for avoiding the draft, it was because he could've single handedly ended the war had he entered the military. One anchor punch could kill about 50 communists at once.

You are embarrassing yourself with your takes on the Liston & Foreman fights.

I suppose Irene is making a point that Foreman was simply knocked "about" rather than unconcious as was Sonny in the first and second go rounds.

KO's and TKO's must always be properly nuanced....dontcha know!

& people say the Ali hating on here is bad

Pointing to the Liston & Foreman fights in defense of his power is akin to Granberry pointing to Ali's weaknesses using fights with Young & Spinks as measuring tools. It's just as biased & just as laughable.

You're still wrong, as Iron Mike was apparently capable of KOing fully grown silverback gorillas. :box:
