Nice thread. I'll keep an eye on it since most of these guys are unknown to me. I tend to on the Americas when it comes to amateurs.

It should be noted that Canadian Steve Rolls is not in India. He and Colin Fish (81 kg) were left off the team for disciplinary reasons.

The weigh has been delayed by a day because the scales were inaccurate:
Commonwealth Games boxers will have an extra day to fast and make the weight after red-faced organisers cancelled the scheduled weigh-in this morning - because the scales weren't accurate.

There were strange bouts today,in one bout a boxer took a knee but his opponent continued to hit him after the call break.
The referee counted him out and the other boxer who should have been disqualified progresses. He was not even spoken to by the ref

No the Games were designed to be held in all Commonwealth countries the last one in the UK was in Manchester in 2002. Then it was here in Australia 2006 in Melbourne and the next Games is 2010 in Delhi India. In 2014 they are being held in Glasgow, Scotland so they be in the UK again.

The UK will have enough on it's plate in four years time with the 2012 Olympic Games

Aarg. Zero medals for Canucks.

Following canadian amateur boxing is getting downright dreary, especially since I strated paying close attention to it in 2005, when 2004 was the last "successful" year for Canada.
