I'd like to get an idea of your top 10 from Gene Tunney to Rocky Marciano.

1 Joe Louis
2 Rocky Marciano
3 Gene Tunney
4 Max Schmeling
5 Ezzard Charles
6 Joe Walcott
7 Jack Sharkey
8 Max Baer
9 Jimmy Bivins
10 Archie Moore

I rate Tunney but he hasn't had quite enough fights for me to go to #2. I think he has the best chance of beating Louis of those listed and would do well in a H2H tournament.

This is difficult, but Louis and Marciano are the standout fighters in this era.

I would rate Walcott as number 3, with Charles and Schmeling just below him.

Moore and Connwould both certainly be in there. :TU:

Based on a "who-I-think-would-have-beaten-whom-at-everyone's-absolute-peak" standard, I see it like this:

1-Joe Louis
2-Gene Tunney
3-Rocky Marciano
4-Ezzard Charles
5-Jersey Joe Walcott
6-Jack Sharkey
7-Max Schmeling
8-George Godfrey (II)
9-Archie Moore
10-Jimmy Bivins

Most under-rated: Jack Sharkey
Most over-rated: Max Baer

That's a good list. You might consider taking another look @ Bob Pastor's record though.

1. Louis
2. Marciano
3. Tunney
4. Charles
5. Walcott
6. Schmeling
7. Baer
8. Sharkey
9. Schaaf
10. Bivins

I'm beginning to think Schaaf is one the most underrated fighters of all-time.
