Power is not as imprtant in a jab as speed and accurracy; at least at the elite level. Seldom does a fighter with a good chin get hurt by a jab by anyone. It just has to be hard enough to keep your oppoonet at bay.
Speed and accurracy are tied together; if you are fast you are more likely to be accurrate because your opponent can't get out the way as often if you are fast.

Douglas did have good jab and he made the most of it when he fought Mike Tyson. Had he been consistent, the heavyweight scene of the late 80's and 90's might have looked a little different. Just a thought.
