Yes indeed. Credit where credit where credit is due.

The likes of Johnny Nelson favoured DeGale heavily... I'll be happy to see him admit that he was wrong.

Boxing pundits repeatedly said that this fight was coming too soon for Grovaes.

The Saint proved them all wrong!!!!

Good fight! Well done George, I hope he gets bigger opportunities and becomes better in the process. May be this will help Degale refocus and work on his weaknesses. I get the impression sometimes that he thinks he is already there as the finished article and the rest is just a formality!

Had my money on Degale but am the first to congratulate Groves on a brilliant performance> Degale just couldn't figure him out. Need Hopkins to win now though or disastarous weekend of betting!

Your statement would make sence if this was their first fight. Tonight's result was no accident... Groves has beaten DeGale twice consecutively now.

Degale come across as a bully with his silly ugly comments. I've never seen someone so confident! His idiot trainer Jim Mcdonalled said the fight wound't even go PAST 1 ROUND.

Actually I have made that point before. Tonights result could be the best thing ever to happen to DeGale.
He needs to take a step back, fight another domestic fighter (like Anderson) and take his time... He is always in a hurry, and though he is an Olympic Champion, he just isn't good enough to become a World Champion. (yet)
But this cannot be rushed. And maybe now he won'tr be so media-friendly. And focus only on his boxing.

Agreed. DeGale is believing his own hype. All this talk about him being a future world champion is nonsence.
Yes, he has the talent and the ability, but he needs to pipe down.

Groves is a class act, there's no doubt about that. I don't even think he hates DeGale, just that DeGale HTES him because Groves beat him the 1st time round and stole some of his limelight.

Like most people, I was in the heart-says-groves-head-says-degale camp.
Like most, i'm chuffed to bits.

The way JD celebrated when the MC said "and still undefeated" shows what a complete plum he is.

Also, what does this mean for the reputation of Booth? He might become a real go-to guy for the upwardly mobile...

Haye maker are going through a real purple patch at the moment! I thought George boxed beautifully,movement was superb, and degale just had no answer. I thought it was going to be a draw. Because the rounds were so difficult to score. But i think groves ring generalship was first class. Didnt give JD an inch. Well done george! nice guy finishes first!
