Classy guy is Paul. Went to the trouble of posting on Groves' Facebook wall that he was going to lose tonight. Poor taste. Now, he's labelling Groves "lucky" zzzzz. Paul Smith made DeGale look great, finally tonight revealed that this showed more about Smith'd abilities than DeGale.

I was thinking that halfway through the fight. I think tonight says a fair bit about Paul Smith. Don't have a problem with Smith, just wonder how good he really is now.

If he has geuinely posted on Groves wall like that then he is an utter twat. Came across well on here til people criticised him and he couldn't hack it. Made DeGale look unbeatable, when in reality Smith is just another domestic brawler only slightly above the level of people like Dilks. Harsh but true.

You would need to explain to Paul what one dimensional means I think!

Give credit to who? Smith for duping the forum or DeGale for convincing the majority he was better than he was. Paul Smith's got a lot to answer for tonight.

Paul tried to 'outtough' DeGale and played into his hands and got a boxing lesson. If Groves had done the same, it would have been a carbon copy of the Smith fight but Groves changed style and tactics and beat DeGale. I don't think Smith could have adapted and fought like Groves did tonight which is what seperates the good from the potential world class. Paul Smith is still a good fighter and still has a future at middleweight.

I don't know if that's true but I did read a quote in BN by Smith saying how Degale would hammer Groves with ease. If he's plastered all over Groves' Facebook then the guy really has lived up to his reputation. Always in a fckin row was Smith on Boxrec, week in week out with someone.

Why is everybody always on his case. He gets a lot of stick from people on here and on his twitter. I think you will find that Paul speaks as he finds, he respects honest opinions but wont take shit from anyone. You cant blame him for standing up for himself, can you? A lot of people on Twitter just try to wind him up as do a lot of people on here which probably the reason he no longer posts on here. As for posting on George Groves Facebook i just dont think its the kind of thing he would d, i may be wrong of course.

I don't know Paul Smith and can only judge from his previous posts on here and on twitter but he comes across as someone with a real chip on his shoulder which probably stems from the fact that he is a pretty average fighter.

He's constantly arguing with people, cannot accept criticism and the way he reacted to the Degale defeat displayed very poor sportsmanship.

I completely disagree - Smith likes to voice his own opinion and to listen to those who agree with him. The minute somebody disagrees with him he acts like a spoilt kid.

What I don't get is, if he doesn't like people disagreeing with him why does he spend so much time on the internet and twitter?

As a full-time well paid boxer,Smith was given advantages that 99% of pros do not get, yet he did not fulfill his potential and it is now time for him to gracefully step aside and let the younger boxers have a chance.

I don't know the man; when he posted on here he would argue his point and he would remember who was being a dick; (there were 1 or 2 who loved to wind him up). He didn't come across as being a nasty sort. If he's posted stuff about George or disrespected him after last night I'd be surprised. Like Darcy says there may be a 'business' reason for it.
