Piss poor fight, all it's become is a pension fund for Haye. Too small and the speed was slightly with Klitschko if anything.

Did he really do the best he could? He didn't have to throw himself on the floor all the time and throw so many wild pub fight-style punches. He could have made more of an effort to get inside.

Very disappointing. Had it 117-111 Klitschko. Will be interested to hear what the 'plan' was assuming it wasn't wild off balance swings once per round.

Maybe he just couldn't handle K's size, but for x million pounds and what is potentially my last fight I'd have gone out on my shield rather than that.

Sorry, but Jim Watt is talking nonsense when he says Haye can have leave with his head held high and that he gave us a terrific fight. He tried to use the same plan he used against Valuev; however, Valuev is a lumbering mess, and Klitschko is a very effective, and busy, fighter.

It was all wrong, and it made for a poor fight, in my view. Haye spent too much time on the back foot and off balance to get real power or accuracy on his punches. He seemed content to pot shot. But Klitschko's half step and lean back basically meant that anything Haye managed to land was at the end of the arc, and therefore ineffectual.

Klitschko's pawing jab, which is literally in the opponent's face for two minutes of every round, kept Haye from setting himself for the bombs. And what heavy shots he did through were wild and overhand. I've always thought Haye is most powerful when smooth and straight. Here he was strained and wild

Poor plan, poor performance, mediocre, if not outright poor fight.

Wlad thereby dominated every round bar two, and one of those he still won. I have to say that I think that Haye's hype backfired, because Klitschko looked supremely fit and at least one level above his normal standard. He was sharp, active, focused and comfortable with his plan.

Well done Wlad, who's been classy in the build up and is a superb, if ugly, fighter.

haye was as fake as I expected.

He is another frAudley with his pre-fight BS.

My son and I were not taking bets on how many big punches he landed a round, but how many times he would go to the canvas in each round.

I hope now Wlad gets some credit for what he does inside the ropes and for what he does outside them.

Big well done Wlad. :TU:

Is a broken toe a good excuse to lose a fight? I'm not sure.

He was saving energy by relaxing his body.

Klitschko was very wary of throwing the right early on. That was Haye's chance to get to work on combinations. I think he's had too many wins from his looping right; the Thompson lessons have been lost.

He went to the floor as Wladimir was pushing him down - was a better tactic to go down otherwise you're burning energy trying to lift up against a 240 pound man. It's not as if Haye has bags of stamina anyway, he's arguably shown in his career he's even more easily winded than Wlad. Not sure he could have got inside easily either, Wladimir very good at leaning back and holding whenever there was any threat of that.

Broken toe? Come on, David.

Just accept it and then leak it later. Some decorum, please.

No way, I've boxed and may others have boxed with broken ribs, noses etc! Not really sure how much a toe would prevent you!

Not sure about that Excuse Broke me toe before and could not move around the room barely let alone run around a ring for 12 rounds.

Still its a shame that the respect could not come without the excuse

Haye has just said his tactic was to let him land for the jab. I agree with them, Wlad has never seen that tactic before..... Possibly because its stupid.

Personally I thought watching that the plan had come from watching Manchester United. At one point I thought it was Nani in the ring he went down so easy.

Also enough about the toe!

No - half the times Wlad was barely touching him. If someone is hardly touching you then throwing yourself on the ground surely takes up much more energy than just standing up.

Now its this toe injury nonsense. It's all wrong. Needs to stop making excuses about everything and be respectful.

Broken toe

In his defence, he has shown himself to be a bit of a plank in the build-up :D

I said he would use his shoes as an excuse after the amount of dives he took.

He was crap. It looks valid now what some said previously. He was only looking for the pay day all along.

PPV now has to stop! 1 round of action, a delayed undercard fight then 12 rounds of poor pish. Worth £15/20? Macklin's performance last week was worth £1000 and that was on normal SKY.

No excuses at all, I thought Haye would win and I put my money where my mouth was with a big bet but Klit was simply the better fighter and he won fair and square and in a more positive way than he normally does.

Maybe not good for British boxing tonight.
But its nice that we now seem to appreciate what a good role model the heavyweight champion is ... just like the good auld days eh

A question will now be. Does haye deserve a Vitali fight? would people buy that after his lack of effort/desire tonight?
If they do ... then the heavyweight scene must be really bad :-?
