Folks had just said "Dempsey-Tunney"--without specifying which of the two Dempsey-Tunney bouts. That is why the answer to Question #1 was only 1/3 correct. Now it is half-answered. To completely answer Question #1, what was the next fight that exceeded that attendance record?

That answer will help explain the answer given to Question #2: who was definitely present at both bouts.

For example, next day reports of Packey McFarland - Mike Gibbons bout estimated the attendance at 40K (NY Tribune), 52K (Brooklyn Eagle), 50K (NY Evening Telegram), 45K (NY Times), 40K (Philadelphia Inquirer sporting editor), close to 60K (United Press), 35K-40K (NY Sun), 35K (Boston Journal). The official count was only 26,072.
