Which fight are you talking about the one against foley where he knocked him down and dominated another round it could easily of been another 10-8 and he was nearly out on his feet. Or the Broadhurst fight where Broadhurst didn't dominate or clearly win any round. What would be interesting is to see what the scores would have been for the 5th round, surely they would have given it to Berridge (it's not 100% though) Maybe you should watch both fights again - with 2 eyes.

I think Berridge was hard done by in the Foley fight. Yes he got a point taken off for 'an elbow' which given the nature of that fight and the fact there were no warning and was not an elbow like a thai boxing move more just putting up the arm -, IMO it was harsh reefing. Even after all that with the point taken off I felt it was a clear decision to Berridge.
I stand by the IMO NZ has the EDGE over Australia in the light heavyweights. Thats my opinion. Just an edge. Definitly a competitive division.

Australians suffering Loss's this month.

Sam now 4-1-1
Broadhurst now 7-1-0
Katsidis now 28-5-0 (still can't believe this one)
Lo Porto now 15-5-2 was never going to win, really good club fighter.... but wow, that is what you call outclassed.
Columban now 20-4-0, i mean really, was this a smart move, no knockout power and trying to get a decision in England......really?
Casey knocked out, this was a surprise.

Fighters that have come out on top.

Mundine, now Kellogs 3rd best fighter in the WBA division.
Berridge, great win for the Butcher, now has some exposure to the fight world with a win over a hot prospect who signed with a big promoter. More fighter from NZ should folow suit.....oh thats right most do and it ends bad 98% of the time, anyways here's to the 2nd percentile Berridge, now a fan..

Vlamis, who is he and where did he come from, good victory over the durable Casey.

Shit I'm looking really bad, i don't think I've picked one yet, thank god i sat on the fence for most.

So to recap the last half of the year.

Australians who were victorious.

Dib defends IBF title with a 1st round stoppage of unbeaten Italian.
Mundine wins interim WBA to regular belt held by Trout who is in turn really interim champion to Cotto
Tomlinson wins IBO title in possibly fight of the year over a tough Mexican
Soliman wins a lopsided win in an IBF eliminator

Australians who were both couragous and gracious in losing

Green loses by stoppage after controlling the fight all judges had green winning comfortably
Katsidis loses via decision in England in a fight most thought he should have won easily
Darchinyan got schooled in the art of boxing, again in a fight that most thought Vic would win easily, honestly the most boring fight i watched this year.
Lo Porto had his opportunity at a true world class fighter and it ended horribly for him, chin up Frank most fighters here never make it that far.

Young fighters who emerged as talent for the future.

Pitt had his toughest fight to date
Berridge beutifully stopped a local and highly touted prospect and has expanded on his branding outside of New Zealand.
David Aloua had his toughest fight to date and got by with a razor thin decision that many thought was a draw.

A lot of young Queensland talent really put it on the line this year against each other. As did a lot of other states.
Jones,Broadhurst,Shiack,Sam,Murdock,Moxon,Tongia,Russell and Flanagan

And Daniel Dawson picked up a couple of regional belts and a top 10 world ranking (I think??). I hope he can get one last decent pay day....>
