J C Chavez vs Wilfred Benitez@140(prime)
Chavez didn't punch as hard as Duran,BUT,I think he worked the body, just as effectively. While Benitez was super-smooth,and maybe too good defensively to be caught with the head shots(early on)Chavez would cut the ring off,and work the body.Benitez would most definitely be landing, but Chavez chin was as good as they come,he wouldn't even be in danger of cutting really, because in his prime,it was as if his skin had been "cured"with the same process as the fighting gloves, leather tough!!After spending the early half of the fight working the body,I'm sure Benitez would have been piling up the points, but come the late rounds,Chavez would begin mixing in the head shots, and stunning Benitez.Chavez would drop Benitez, and MAYBE even stop him, for the win.Chavez by either late stoppage or close decision,

Although i dont agree, I can repect you picking Benitez by decision. But tko?.decision win or TKO....
this is extremely far fetched. In his prime Chavez had one of the greatest chins of all time and took punches from fighters who hit alot harder than Benitez. Chavez at the time was never close to being knocked out.
Theone, I know JC's chin was amazing, but the extra weight is the key and Benitez was notably bigger.....Maybe not a clean KO, but if Wilfred really opened up and landed continuously and hard, the REF might be forced to step in...Like a Ray Leonard, he would do the same to JC, may not clean KO him but definitely hurt him to the point of the ref saying enough is enough. I just think JC was a weight or two below Benitez and on the fight night he could be giving away at least 7lbs...to a very talented fighter with decent power.......that's why I say maybe a TKO....

I can see Benitez maybe taking a decision over 12 but 15... Benitez seemed to me to be a hypnotic fighter, lulling his opponent to his pace and sometimes he seemed to be lazy, almost sleepwalking through rounds. That would cost him against Chavez who was among the best at making others fight at his behest...He'd punch through many Benitez feints and trickery and make him work round after round. Slim chance of Chavez tko but probably wide UD finishing like a freight train
JC Chavez would IMO give Benitez a torrid time.
Wilfred would have to pull out all his tricks just to keep Julio off him.
Unlike Duran who would KO Benitez at this weight, Chavez was struggling at the weight was struggling with natural 140 pounders. Chavez was better at 135 or under.
If Benitez could keep out of his way then Wilfred wins a decision.
But somehow I don't think he would. Chavez would be there all the way
Very close decision either way.

JCC did have some problems with slick fighters like Benitez, just look at the fight with Pernell Whitaker which I believe that Whitaker won. Benitez would have been to slick for JCC. Benitez defense and counter punching ability was at his best at 140. So I would say a clear victory for Benitez by MD, UD or SD.

This would be one for the ages, that's for sure. I'd go with Benetiz by a UD, but it would be a tough one.

Close one, but smart boxing from Benitez takes the win on points.

These people were out of their fucken minds.
Benitez with CONSUMMATE ease. 9-5-1. Chavez neither good enough nor big enough.

Benitez in a Ud he was just to brilliant defensively and he has faced harder punchers than Chavez
