Best heavyweights of the 90s

Post by Jaywheel »

Similar to the other threads. I will start using solely the win loss records against quality of opponent.

1. Oliver McCall : W Lewis, Holmes, Maskaev, Seldon, Damiani / L Lewis
2. Riddick Bowe: W Holyfield x2, Golota x2, Seldon, Dokes, Tucker / L Holyfield
3. Ross Purrity: W Wlad Klit / D Morrison / L Rahman, Byrd
4. Ike Ibeabuchi: W Byrd, Tua
5. David Tua: W Rahman, Maskaev, Ruiz / L Ibeabuchi
6. Duke Morrison: W Foreman, Ruddock / D Purrity / L Lewis
7. Michael Grant: W Golota, Purrity, Savarese
8. Mike Tyson: W Ruddock x2, Seldon, Bruno / L Holyfield x2, Douglas
9. Lewis: W Briggs, Morrison, Holyfield / D Holyfield / L McCall
10. Holyfield :W Stewart, Moorer / D Lewis / L Lewis, Bowe x2, Moorer

I am sure this one will create some controversy.

McCall and Tua and to a lesser extent Morrison were the big surprise performers for me. Although obviously being young at the beginning of the decade helps. Larry Donald and Jimmy Thunder surprisingly didnt rate. There are quite a few other good fighters, like the Klitschko brothers, Golota or Byrd, whose best work was out of the decade, and who had some decent performances who did not rank and i am sure will cause a bit of a furore for some.

This one is sure to be a boilermaker.

Right and the series with Lewis was a draw according to this system, Ibeabuchi needs to be higher he didn't loose to Lewis, Holyfield, Tyson, Bowe or anybody for that matter :TU:
