Wayne Alexander future fights

Whats the best option for him next. He surely should be fighting again soon.

i would like to see him in against a top ten world fighter, ok theres a good chance he would get beat but with his power hes only ever one punch away from knocking out anyone including the very best, with him being 32 now surley he would have nothing to lose.

I want to see him in with Santas ASAP, he isn't getting any younger. Santos is probaly the #1 fighter in the devision currently (with DLH inactive and Wright a middleweight). Alexander has the power to win this fight. I don't think he will but I think it is time he stepped up.

Alexander has the power but i worry about his chin, i see him getting stopped early by anyone up near world class, Alexander is way too open, he just wings away and will get tagged by guys like Santos over and over.

Oh yeah he won't win, but I think better him losing his shot than losing to a lesser fighter (which could happen with Wayne). He doesn't have world class skills (far from it) and he has a poor chin (and weak to the body in his last few showings also) - he is a defeat waiting to happen, better happen vs Santos than to someone like Michael Jones - he can always come back down to Jones' level.

Thats all he really has is a punch, but it could be enough. Santos is probably fighter most suited for Alexander, weak chin, relatively small for the weight and not a huge huge puncher himself.

If it doesn't happen then I plead with FW to put him in with Sinclair before he retires. Both fight for SN and Sinclair is moving up to challenge Ossie Duran for the Commonwealth title. Win lose or draw vs Duran (and I suspect he will lose) I want to see Sinclair vs Alexander - what a bout that will be. All 3 rounds of it.

Agreed on that mate, Alexander V Sinclair would be a war alright...would slightly favour Sinclair but you just never know with Alexander, the guy can bang!

I think Alexander would knock Sinclair out for about half an hour. Not a good match.

How about Alexander - Vargas - definately a punchers chance with Vargas chin issues - no chance of it happening though with Vargas aiming for DLH and Mayorga superfights

Vargas not hard to hit either, but is significantly faster than Alexander and hits hard. I suspect he will land clean first and win the fight early.

Met Wayne at a do in Croydon a few months back and he was saying this is the only fight he wants, one he believes he can win, and one he's asking his team to get him. Hopefully he'll get the fight, although unfortunately I wouln't bet on it.

Well, Santos was on FW's books and he had a good relationship with him after he left FW (I think the Takaloo vs Santos fight was after Santos had left SN).

No reason why it couldn't be made then. Like I say, Wayne was adamant that was the only fight he really wanted at the mo.... his mrs was even saying its all he'd been banging on about

A big problem now though could be TV. I wouldn't have thought allegedly would like to see one of his British fighters in a world title bout with no UK TV. Will US TV want the longest reigning Light Middle champion to fight at a non prime time hour for them? Will ITV show live boxing at 2 am again?

A dedicated sports channel would have no doubt, but will ITV?

I cant believe that he not headlined some fights in London. He always exciting to watch.

Thats actually true, I thought he had healined loads in the Capital untill I did a check. The only one he truly headlined was vs Takaloo.

Although I think he was officially given top billing on the Polo vs Chacon and Johnny Tapia appearance when defending his EBU title.

Thats it in the Capital. I know he is exciting, but does he have a huge fanbase cause he has headlined a few TV shows but rarely in London.

poor wayne, ist obvious he gets no love from his promoter.....

The Takaloo fight was meant to put him out of the picture but things didnt turn out as expected....

Dont expect to see Wayne fight much before christmas
