Hello John. I am e-mailing you because I am not able to post on the board. I believe that there is a mistake in regard to the records of Kansas City Joe Shaw and New York Joe Shaw. The records seem to be combined to a degree. For instance, the Joe Shaw who boxed Luis Rodriguez is the same man who boxed Bennie Briscoe-I have a tape of this Joe Shaw discussing this. However, the boxrec records do not reflect this. THe Joe Shaw who was on the U.S.A. olympic team is the man who boxed both Rodriguez and Briscoe.
