Let's be honest here, people are saying Groves isn't ready for Froch (I happen to think Groves can beat Froch, and I'm a big Froch fan) but could Degale match a Groves on this showing? He recently said he's 2 or 3 fights away from a world title shot, he's looks well and truly domestic or Euro level tonight. The C5 commentators are describing his shorts! That's how impressed with him they are, and they're supposed to be hyping him up!

groves cant beat froch. Groves and degale are on similar levels and always have been, groves has just got chunkys number. Groves hasnt been fighting a much lower level of opponent then degale since beating him. Theres world title shots then theres world title shots.

First half of the fight was textbook by Degale. The second half he tired and it was messy.

I'm still no further forward on whether he can win the world title! Don't rate his power.

I can see both sides here...I can understand why people thought that was a good performance but totally appreciate those that thought it wasn't. I've just come to the conclusion that DeGale is that kind of fighter...some like him, some don't.
For me he's just too frustrating, I always expect him to explode into life and no sooner he does something good he then goes and starts arseing around again.

Didn't see the fight, but I'm not sure how he could show that against someone as limited as Davis. Pyror Jr. pretty much shut him out over 8 too.

Fair enough, but I think that Groves would fair better in that super six than Degale would. I guess a lot of it is that people take to different people, I happen to think that Degale isn't very interesting to watch, and considering his persona, you'd think he'd be all style and skills etc. I'm just not that impressed.

Sarcasm aside degale was more mobile tonight, not sat on the ropes, however not much coming from Davis to really judge where Degale is really in regards world class and the flush shots never seemed to trouble davis so that would be a concern at world level for me.

What happened to the days when a masterclass involved a fighter landing combo after combo whilst making the other guy miss? When the performance was crowd pleasing? Shows how our standards have fallen when hit run hold is now looked upon as the such.

I think Degale was coasting tonight. Davis just wasnt good enough in any department to trouble Degale. They'll be stiffer tests than this but Degale is a good fighter.
