Eddie Hearn - The celebrity/Eddie the Ego

Post by TopGun »

It Is very much the Eddie Hearn show now with any of the fighters he promotes. Why does he walk out with the fighters on their ring walk? Why does he need to be taking interviews talking about himself all the time? Why is Eddie always being interviewed and on TV more than his fighters?

It's like he wants as much fame as possible and he forgets that it is his job to get his fighters in the papers, in front of the camera's.

It's obviously working as the fighters are falling over themselves to sign with him. I just find it all a little too much Eddie the Ego getting in the way of what he needs to be doing.

I would not be surprised if we see Eddie walking out twice on Saturday night.....personally they should have 3 ring walks so he can have his own music.

I personally think he is good for the sport, he just has a bit of personality for some reason people don't like that.

Ultimate salesman and self promoter.

"Bottom line" Eddie though should be his nickname. Rightfully its all about the money and wider audience. Sucks for us 'hardcore boxing fans' a term he loves to do in inverted commas when patronising us on WeFilmLondon stuff.

The self publicity stuff is a bit too much, the "all my fighters are my mates" the answering every single dumb casual fan on twitter its all not cool. Have some real cool Eddie, take the less is more approach. You aint ever gonna be as cool as the Bobfather. Now they set the bar for innovation etc. Goldenboy doesn't come close. Top Rank is where its at. Rant over.

It's called promoting. We just need another Eddie Hearn now.... Someone who isn't bitter or jealous and wants to compete to be the best and have the best UK fights and fighters, then we'd move into a truly golden era.

Spot on, the sport is in danger of dying so we need these characters to give it character. The era of Naz and Eubank may very well be looked upon as all pantomime but the truth is it had everyone talking and interested.

I'm not saying bring back the magic carpet or Eubank on a Harley, I just think characters and more of a show before fights is the way forward.

But what music would he walk out to?!

I quite like Eddie, he seems fan friendly and he clearly loves what he does. I appreciate he's not everyone's cup of tea but I think he's the type of character that might appeal to the casual fan...charming, enthusiastic and gooooorgeous!
