FROCH v GROVES COUNTDOWN
Still not sure if I'll get the PPV, as I hate giving the bums at Sky any more than I already do, for their underwhelming boxing "coverage" - but this fight is a real throwback - a hard as nails British world champ taking on the young massively talented Brit contender ( or maybe pretender ).
Both as confident as hell, and big punchers too. It's going to be a dynamite evening...we hope.
I'm either inviting a few boxing mates over. or we'll find a pub...
It's funny as I live down the road from where George is from - Hammersmith - and if I go in to a pub around there and ask if they're showing the fight, ( as I did on the DeGale night ) I get vacant blank looks. Maybe that will change after Sat night - I reckon he has a better chance than some seem to think - Like Ricky Hatton, you can see how GG might win this, but it's very hard to bet against an iron man like Carl Froch

Re: FROCH v GROVES COUNTDOWN
It's a good fight, but I wont be shelling out for this one, its just not PPV worthy. I already pay for sky sports and feel like this one should be a sky sports fight. We don't even know if Groves belongs on the world stage yet and he is already headlining a PPV. He might rise to the occasion and this could be a war, if it is I'll watch it online and buy the rematch....
Re: FROCH v GROVES COUNTDOWN
I think there's a chance Froch could age badly in this bout. He's not been this prickly and sour before a fight and seems paranoid that Groves is showing little respect - why he should be bothered about that is beyond me. Groves is far younger and fresher and hits hard and fast enough to do some damage. I think maybe Froch is a touch more worried than he's letting on.
Re: FROCH v GROVES COUNTDOWN
I'll decide whether I'm getting it on the day.
Depends on whehter I'd rather watch the snooker.

Yes, it's usually when people have been ordering lots of porn through their sky box mate.Gazmac81 wrote:its an extra fiver after Friday i Believe mate , maybe if you just phone though

If you ring sky, they can reset it. Or if you say that the card looked a bit "toasted" and the connections on it dont look good, they might send you a new one in the post.

Re: FROCH v GROVES COUNTDOWN
Jesus, I am such an eejit. For some reason I was convinced the fight was on the 30th. I didn't even realise when people were talking about 'on Saturday' and other giveaway things.
In this case, I need an excuse not to go to my sister's boyfriend's birthday party.

No can do, he's doing some heroic charity skydive (he's afraid of heights) to make people not think he's a pudendum...and he's not even making a Facebook group about it!columbo wrote:Just tell her you think he's a pudendum. Re: FROCH v GROVES COUNTDOWN
Wow. Nine Froch/Groves threads on this page. Why don't the mods just move everything into this one since it was started by Boxrec stalwart MW.
Anyone watching in London then? I need news of Kentish Town area pubs showing this fight!

Am I the only person that think Froch is a twat? I respect his achievements on the ring but I just can't take to the guy at all.
I hope (and think) Groves is going to pull it off tomorrow.

Re: FROCH v GROVES COUNTDOWN
he was a twat when he first burst on the scene , "Bigger than David Beckham"
he gained alot of respect from his Pascal war and onwards
since singing with Eddie and Sky he was become bit flash again and still chants some stupid statements.

I would say you're in a majority. The only problem here is, so is George!palooka wrote:No, you are not alone on that one.sgtcecil wrote:Am I the only person that think Froch is a twat? I respect his achievements on the ring but I just can't take to the guy at all.

Well done Carl and George
Whatever you think the outcome of this fight is, they've certainly got all of us talking about it indepth! I have a feeling it's going to do really big numbers of PPV.
