No personality, so when he plays the big man, it doesn't come across as tongue in cheek....so comes across as a knobhead.

Don't know him in person so can't comment about his real charachter

I like Froch. You have to respect a man with a girlfriend as beautiful as that.

No he's a drip.

Groves acts a drip, but is actually a nice lad.

I'm feeling sorry for George at the minute, he looks overwhelmed

He's a good guy, down to earth and friendly. Except when he's punching you in the face.

Frochs got a bit of an ego and i think especially before he went to sky he felt he wasnt getting the respect and kudos he deserved. Having said that he was right and in the ring he has surely earned the respect of any real boxing fan even if they dont like him as a person.

In terms of making an effort with his fans etc he is very good, he's clearly got something going for him because his mrs is smoking, he also makes a big effort to help the am fighters like he did with the British Olympic team and up and coming fighters, i dont think he's come across badly against groves like some people think he has, if anything i think groves has made a bit of a tit out of himself.

I like Froch and certainly respect what he has done in the sport.

Incidentally i also really like groves his play acting at the moment doesnt suit him though its obviously a sales tactic, and its worked because people are even now giving him a chance. If i had asked anyone on this site who was going to win straight after the Bute or Kessler fight everyone would be saying Froch, whats changed other than george talking himself up? Its the Audley Harrison effect.

World Champ has decent GF..

If he worked in B&Q the nearest he gets to that girl is a topless shot in a mag.
I doubt it's just that. Initially that probably played a big factor but they have kids, etc, together now so I imagine there's a bit of substance to it.

That's a bit like saying she wouldn't have gotten near a world champion if she had a face like a bag of spanners.

Well said Finn.

In fairness, I don't mind Groves either, but I'll be cheering for Carl and fully expect him to win pretty easily tonight.

I'm not at all keen; I thought he was borderline Ok before this but he really has himself on a pedestal above everyone else, all anyone around him (including his mum in the pizza restaurant) seem to tell him how proud they are of him and how amazing he is. His boxing achievements speak for themselves and do not need reiterating every 2 minutes, he demands respect without giving it. He's a very good fighter but seems a deeply unpleasant man.

I used to agree with you, especially after the Abraham fight, but I've met her a few times and she's actually very friendly and doesn't come across as being full of herself at all. Whether that's the case or not I don't know but take as you find I reckon.

She is a celeb wanabee, it's good publicity for her. She used her looks and fair play to her.

Shes still CRASS.

and? she's a wag whats your point? that doesnt mean she's not a decent person. Your saying she's not your type but people are questioning weather thats because your not capable of getting a decent looking girl.

If your not willing to back it up and prove you can, zip it. Otherwise its like me saying i prefer Ford to Ferrari because i cant afford a Ferrari.

Ive seen some interviews of her and she seems like a really nice girl actually. This might be ironic considering the thread title, but I doubt Froch would be with her purely because of her looks.

He,s certainly not the worst as a person but he does think a hell of a lot of himself and his achievements(rightly so some would say) he probably isnt that far off in his assesments of himself but im not a fan of people sucking ther own cXXk too often and i feel he only has himself to blame for Groves percieved lack of respect as Carl does have a very large superiority complex and expects fighters to worship the ground he walks on,im pretty sure George would have been fairly respectful in the build up if Froch didnt keep harping on about GG being ungrateful etc

Another thing i dont like is he,s very hypicritical, getting his knickers in a twist about Groves and Cleverly helping Kessler prepare saying it was basically treason yet he was happy to tell everyone live on TV that he told Kessler to throw the body shot that felled Magee

Also if a fighter is quicker, slicker and basically a better mover than him,he moans about fighters not standing and having a tear up with him which is basically like a kid saying he wants to play a game his way coz he cant do it the other way AND he thinks a fighter should TAKE the title from the champion like he said when Dirrell fought him, when really who the champ and challenger is,is irrellevant

not too mention the whole chasing Calzaghe affair then berating Groves when he wasnt half as bad as him
