Re: Tony Tucker v. Ron Lyle
This is one of those fights where most people are going to pick the guy who was more exciting and came from the star studded era, over the man who fought during a less impressive period and brought far less action in some of his fights. Still, I might be inclined to pick the latter of the two by close decision, given that he'd likely play it safe, stay out of range, use his tactical skills and durability to weather the storm.

What storm would Tucker have to evade, O Drunken One? You're already on record as calling Ron Lyle a 'moderate hitter'. Why does anyone as empirically durable as Tony Tucker need to evade the storm of a 'moderate hitter'? Please expand.

Lyle by UD. Tucker would get outworked and worn down.

Okay so Tyson couldn't KO Tucker and neither could Lewis despite the fact that one of them fought him when he was 35 years old, while the other took him on while he had an injured hand. but somehow Lyle is going to score a knockout?Tomasino wrote:Lyle KO10

Lyle, close unanimous decision. He would outwork the more talented, but less experienced Tucker over the distance. There is a picture of the two of them together on the net somewhere, think they may have worked together.

It's boxing, and Lyle was a big puncher. While I don't think it's the most likely outcome, Lyle certainly had the potential to KO just about anyone.drunkenpiper36 wrote:Okay so Tyson couldn't KO Tucker and neither could Lewis despite the fact that one of them fought him when he was 35 years old, while the other took him on while he had an injured hand. but somehow Lyle is going to score a knockout?Tomasino wrote:Lyle KO10
I'd pick Tucker in this one as Llyle seemed to not understand just how hard he could punch and would sometimes fight too passively. Tucker by close decision.
