Thing is that Kirkland is fairly vulnerable early, but once he picks up he's hard to slowdown. I could see Lemieux getting to him early, or him breaking Lemieux down after getting through some tough rounds. I'd probably lean toward the latter, but either way it would likely be a good watch.

Shyt, I wouldn't care who wins. I just know it would be great until it ended.

I would too, simply because Kirkland is a bit more accustomed to those type of fights.

Round 1

Stevenson is tapping out with a double right jab on the gloves. Fonfara is throwing his 1-2 down at Stevenson, backing him into the ropes. Fonfara is scoring with right hands on the body. Stevenson is caught ducking away with a right hand lead. Stevenson is sitting back and doubling up a pawing right jab, following with overhand lefts. Body shot by Stevenson. Jab and left uppercut into the guard by Stevenson. Combination by Fonfara, ending with a left hook on the body. Quick left from Stevenson drops Fonfara. He beats the count. Another big left by Stevenson. Fonfara is hurt and backpedaling into a corner. Fonfara ties up. 1-2 by Fonfara escaping the corner as Stevenson keeps firing lefts at him. Hard left hand shot up between the gloves by Stevenson. Fonfara holds. Right hook, left cross by Stevenson catching Fonfara circling away. Left jab, right uppercut from outside by Fonfara, grazing. Big left hands by Stevenson, straight and clubbing as he walks Fonfara down.

Round 2

Fonfara is coming straight at Stevenson with the long right hand and left hook. Stevenson backs out and dips to his left, throwing high left hands. Fonfara is buzzing Stevenson's temple with the right hand. Stevenson is rocked into an involuntary step aside by a combination blocked on his shoulders. Stevenson is jabbing at the body and then rowing out higher jabs on the backfoot. Fonfara is extending his left jab, measuring, and throwing his right at Stevenson's head. Left hooks on the body by Fonfara as Stevenson drops his head low and to his left. Long left hook from outside by Fonfara, rolled with as Stevenson circles off. Fonfara paddle-balls his jab into the space just in front of Stevenson's nose, walking him into the ropes. Stevenson jumps in with a southpaw 1-2 on the belly button. Fonfara walks forward, leaning back to slip a Stevenson right hook. Clinch.

Round 3

Fonfara is catching jabs on his left glove, slapping Stevenson on the back with his left hook. Stevenson is circling to his left, flipping up the right jab while moving with his feet spread wide apart. Left cross shot up from the hip behind a double jab by Stevenson, landing flush. Fonfara counters a left hook on the face as Stevenson digs a short right hook on the body while circling. Stevenson grins. High 1-2 by Stevenson, missing as Fonfara folds himself over and backs out with a jab. Fonfara rolls with a right hook while reaching in with a left jab. Hook on the head by Fonfara. Jabs traded as Stevenson circles out and leans back. 1-2 by Stevenson. Right hook upstairs and left hand on the body by Stevenson. Fonfara drops a skewering right on the body but is staggered off balance by a straight combo from Stevenson. Fonfara ducks a left hand and keeps walking forward, missing left jabs. Right hand and left hook by Fonfara, misjudging distance.

Round 4

Stevenson backs up, mohawk dusted by a couple of left jabs. Stevenson throws a double right jab up top and drills in with a left. Stevenson is jabbing into Fonfara's chest while leaning back, and Fonfara just touches him with a left jab. Flurry on the body by Stevenson. Fonfara grimaces but then smiles through it, walking forward with his arms up to expose the body further. Fonfara throws a 1-2 and grazes but is stuffed by a Stevenson right jab and unable to put through full power. Quick left hand by Stevenson leaping forward to stay off the ropes and get Fonfara dancing away.

Round 5

Fonfara is aggressive behind the left jab, catching Stevenson with it as Stevenson drops into a reclining position and loads up left hands from the hip. Stiff jab on the mouth by Fonfara. HARD left on the body from Stevenson makes Fonfara take a knee, wincing. Fonfara comes forward with his forearms posted up across his face, Stevenson throwing right jabs into them and whipping left into the body. Fonfara is hurt, but nods in a show of bravado.

Fonfara isn't jabbing well enough for me. Jab, double jab, shift to the left keep away from the left hand. Stevenson doesn't have much else Hopkins would mesmerise him and Kovalev blasts him out of there for me.
