Alot of fights for a heavyweight. Imo 100 to 150 is more than enough.

Good luck to the brother. It'd be kinda cool to see a US guy stick to the amateur game for the next 4 Olympics, but I suspect if he were to medal the pro offers would be too sexy to pass up. And yea he gots a lot of fights already. Don't seem like many US guys have that many fights these days let alone bigger guys mostly just cuz guys don't stick around as long as Cam already has.

lol @ acting like being #15 in the world two years out from the Olympics is a bad thing. Hell being #15 in the world going into the Olympics ain't bad. I'm sure the list of guys who've been ranked 15th or worse & medal'd is fairly long.tflanagan5 wrote:No offense diggs but he doesn't have a hope of medaling at a major tournament his not even in the top 15 in the world

Guys ranked 15th or less are usually top class fighters who burst onto the world scene soon too ye Olympics, not ones who have been around for 5+ years and constantly get there ass handed too him
Also his chances of qualifying for the Olympics might be very slim if he doesn't join apb boxing ,
Luckily for American fighters the American qualifying section is easy to qualify from or else he would have no hope at all

I wouldn't call a amateur whos 43-5 in the last year & a half as a guy whos constantly getting his ass beat. The guy has won some tournaments this year. Hardly a also ran kinda guy.tflanagan5 wrote:Guys ranked 15th or less are usually top class fighters who burst onto the world scene soon too ye Olympics, not ones who have been around for 5+ years and constantly get there ass handed too him

What he means is that he doesn't have to go through the European championships to qualify for the Olympics. For the Olympic qualifiers, Europe is the toughest followed by Asia. The Americas is getting tougher as many South American countries are getting better. Cuba is the highest rated country in the Americas. The African qualifier follows with Oceania (Australia, New Zealand and south Pacific island countries) being the easiest to qualify from.scallum wrote:How is it easier for Americanstflanagan5 wrote:Guys ranked 15th or less are usually top class fighters who burst onto the world scene soon too ye Olympics, not ones who have been around for 5+ years and constantly get there ass handed too him

Yes, the European qualifier is the toughest because European countries win about 50% of all medals at World Championships and Olympic Games however they get a lot fewer places at the Olympics.

The Oceanian countries will have to qualify with Asia this time which will make it very difficult for them except for some australians who will probably qualify.JMac wrote:What he means is that he doesn't have to go through the European championships to qualify for the Olympics. Yup, Africa wins usually zero medals and get the same amount of places, this makes an Olympic medal a lot easier to win than a world championship medal , an idea a lot of uneducated boxing fans have a problem grasping

Re: Cam-F. Awesome A Super Heavy Talent
I'd consider Africa by far the easiest place or terrible boxers to qualify from
Oceania only get 1 place at each weight catagory and considering Australia usually have a decent guy at each weight class it's isn't too bad. For example Joseph Parker couldn't qualify for the last Olympics because linde of Australia did
While the African fighters in that weight cat short were very poor

I believe Oceania boxers will no longer get one place at the Olympics-they will have to qualify through the Asia route.
