Nobody can survive current Golovkin unless they are successfully playing their game. Survival mode is a prescription for getting stopped.

He's been down once to Darnell Boone who in turn flattened stevenson and dropped Kovalev aswell
Hurt bad vs Kenny Kost too

Funny, that fight seems to have been taken down. I'm sure I watched it on YouTube just a few weeks ago. Interesting.

Man fought Froch, Abraham, Rodriguez, Kessler, Bika and never been close to be hurt and suddenly he has a poor chin because million years ago he was dropped by a guy who drops everyone. What I read here amaze me sometimes. Ward is tougher then a coffin nail, hello.

Does he do chin training? Hook weights up to a goatee and flex his bottom lip?

Ward is like Waldimir Klitchko, he just became harder to hit and learned to completely nullify his opponent through craft & fouling.

Was just watching the Froch fight before. Noticed how badly Ward got marked up on his face for someone who didn't take so many punches.
Now imagine how Golovkin is gonna bust him up. A superior technique, superior pressure, superior power, speed, volume to Froch. Ward would get busted up good, and any swelling or blood or reason not to see GGG's punches coming is bad news for Andre.

Forget Andre Ward… if the Marvel & DC super-powered characters existed in the real-world, Gennady Golovkin would easily destroy Superman and the Hulk in consecutive bouts on the very same night, with one arm tied behind his back!

An even better idea, we should use GGG to keep the peace rather than risking the lives of members of the armed forces!

Nice job, you motherf4cker, to take a phrase out of context. That was a reply to Ward losing a decision in survival mode and was meant to say that you can't fight GGG in survival mode:
Nobody can survive current Golovkin unless they are successfully playing their game. Survival mode is a prescription for getting stopped.

Are you telling me none of hose fighters landed anything to check his chin. He got careless with a very dangerous puncher and got dropped. Thats all, everyone gets dropped, ask Froch.

Well, GGG tends to not only drop but stop fighters who have never been dropped before. Ward should join their company, and I prefer it to happen next year.

GGG can definitely drop Ward as well as Froch and anyone else around that weight class. But Ward is very tough and has at least good chin that's my point.

Ward wins in very comfortable fashion. Don't even see this being all that competitive he just has too many wrinkles in his game.

People judge ward off his chin when he was a novice can't be taken seriously. Hopkins Pacquaio these guys were dropped early in their careers. What's it mean. They learned how to fight. Not a coincidence his chin hasn't been tested as he's faced better fighters it's because he is a complete fighter now. Grasping at straws pointing at guys first fights as a pro really silly argument. Judge them for what they are now not what they were.

Chepppaaa wrote:depends on the ref and weight class

at middleweight: ggg crushes ward badly, because ward would be a a bit dyhardated and gggs power is for real

at super middleweight: right now ward uds ggg. maybe a somewhat more experienced gg would win at sm

but the ref plays an important role in this fight.

if there is a ref in it who has nothing against crabbing, holding hugging, holding while punching, simply dirty boxing and lets all excessive go, than ward uds ggg

but if is a ref who goes by the rules and deductes points for excessive hugging and holding than ward would easily have 2-3 point deductions, along with gg winning by his own skills.

tough contest.

middleweight wont happen, thats right.

but depending if ggg becomes a ppv star or not, than a catch weight would make sense. because ward can get with nobody a ppv event at super midd., imagine ggg beating the likes of cotto or canelo and becoming a big name star. than ggg-ward as an catch weight would make financielly very much sense.

Obviously it would take place at 168, Ward couldn't make Middleweight and suggest he would even try is absurd, he was a Middleweight in the am's as a teenager and was competing as a Light Heavyweight as an amateur before turning pro.

I'm going to tell you this: Chavez Jr is not an easy fight. A lot of people say [it's easy] but that's not an easy fight. He's a big kid, he's a strong kid and he can punch." -Andre Ward, April, 2013

Right now, Froch is behind the scenes trying to get what he perceives as the weak link, which is Chavez Jr. - Andre Ward, January, 2014

With a fair referee who stops Ward from using illegal tactics, Golovkin would win by KO/TKO.

It amazes me that some people cant understand how good Andre Ward is. And why he's good. He is Bernard Hopkins with youth and speed.

Does it mean that by beating him Golovkin will also beat Hopkins ?

I think we'd all be waiting for GGG to land the big bomb and waiting... and waiting... while we get to watch a tangled up mess in the ring.

One thing I will say is, Golovkin doesn't seem to need that much space to get off those monster shots, so Ward might be playing into his hands by getting in the clinch.

It's not a great style matchup but would be great to see if Golovkin can take Ward down a peg or two, his inactivity and status has become tedious to say the least.

You can bet your ass if he beat Ward he would smack Hopkins. But he won't beat Ward so it will be moot.
