This is blockbuster news, ring observers.

A well-connected source has told me today that CBS boss Les Moonves wants the Pacquiao vs. Mayweather superfight to become reality next year. No ifs ands or buts about it. Word is Moonves has told Showtime sports boss Stephen Espinoza to make the fight happen "or else."

Meaning that Espinoza will be on the street if he does not, and Haymon and Mayweather can say goodbye to any Showtime dates in the future, and that includes Haymon's stable of fighters and also the fighters who box for Mayweather Promotions.

And it makes perfect, logical sense. Haymon and Mayweather don't call the shots, Les Moonves does.

Moonves is said to be uncomfortable with the idea of televising two more Mayweather "fights" against set up handpicked opponents because those events will be certain money losers, just like Mayweather's last two fights, and three of the last four (not counting Saul Alvarez which was profitable).

So there you have it, according to my reliable and connected source, the pressure on Mayweather and Haymon is now at an all time high. They are caught in the vice and it's closing fast. And the only way out now is to agree to finally...FINALLY...fight Manny Pacquiao.

Even Floyd's uncle and father are saying in public, Floyd should fight Pacquiao next.

Looks like the big bosses at CBS are getting tired of Flop Mayweather making them losses. Only the name of Saul Canelo Alvarez and his huge Mexican fanbase has brought them any profit in 4 Mayweather fights - the other 3 being Flops against C-level Guerrero and Maidana x2.

I think they also fear that no other opponent will sell at this point, allowing Floyd to cherry pick an opponent like Brook or Alexander will probably result in horrible figure, the casual fan i think might be at tipping point with no interest in watching Mayweather vs tomato cans like Maidana.

For the first time in about 3 years i'm starting to think this fight may just get made.

In reality who else is there for Mayweather to fight. The Guerrero Maidana fights were big duds. It appears Showtime is out to re coup those losses. The only one who made money was Mayweather. Fight Pacquiao or else, I like that..

Just dont understand the hype with this fight. I would have been a great attraction about 6 years ago but thats about it. Floyd schools him easy with pacman getting as busted up as he is willing to attack. This fight is scheduled to be the biggest letdown since DLH vs Trinidad

I doubt Floyd even busted up his ex wife, the guy can't punch. I can't remember the last time I seen a Floyd a opponent with so much as a scratch on them after 12 rounds. His big problem vs Pacquiao however is his legs are gone, Pacman's offensive footwork is the best in the game - Floyd probably only has enough left in the tank to take about 3 rounds off Pacquiao at best.

Besides the fact that you guys don't like him, I don't understand why anyone would act like Floyd should be the one chasing this fight? Floyd is not the one who is facing bums. Floyd's popularity (as measured by PPV buys) is not on as a big decline as Manny's. Floyd is also making more money, even without the inflated millions from China.

Until Manny openly says that he is instructing Arum to make the fight, then BOTH fighters should be blamed. Sick of the bias.

He' also 83 years old, in good health, the biggest, best and longest running top-level promoter and the richest man in boxing. Bob will pay Mayweather more than Pacquiao, such is the leverage Floyd has as a free agent vs the contracted Manny. All that's left is Floyd's pride of letting Arum do the fight, is it worth more than $150m +? The decision is Floyd's.

Dumbest thing I've ever read from a total Dumb Ass to boot!! Floyd is not a Free Agent, he is self-promoting his own name with Haymon backing him. For all your bragging of Arum being this and that, it doesn't entitle him to promote this bout by himself and you failed to mention how much he has FAILED with Manny which is why he doesn't bother to release the PPV numbers of many of Pacquiao's fights.

You mention nothing of the fact that Floyd's offers have been rejected by Manny, including the 50-50 deal Manny was claiming he wanted to make the fight but yet when the time came HE DUCKED!!

I disagree with that, Bob Arum went to a meeting with Haymon and the rest of his Top Rank Cronies but according to Ariza the negotiations didn't last long because of Arum throwing out stupid demands and not giving anyone a chance to say anything before getting up and leaving.

So a serious attempt was made after then but it was Arum who ran away and took Manny the Duck with him. Somehow Dumbasses like Ricky, Rodian and a few others here will twist this as Floyd ducking Manny.
