Martinez won the Ring title fair and square by beating the previous champ then defended it many times against legit middleweights. ONE fight against a smaller guy for the biggest available payday hardly makes him undeserving.
No matter who he fights the fact that he won the title IN THE RING makes him more deserving than anyone that would accept a title being just given to him.
The ONLY active boxer that DESERVES the Ring middleweight title is the man who defeated the previous champion and that man is Miguel Cotto.

GGG has faced average competition at best for most of his 12 "defences" . his oppostion has been 50% poor.

Since when is beating the reigning champ not good enough?
The challenger has no say at all in who the champ happens to be, how old that champion is and if he has bad knees or some other such problem.
So far your whole argument is nothing more than you like one guy so just GIVE him the belts.
Forget actually fighting the Ring champ and beating him or winning a vacant championship just strip the champ then pick somebody out of the crowd and give them the belt

Its not anybody, its #1 contender and peoples champ. In any case 3g would love to fight Cotto, is mandated to fight him. The most commonly stated reason against is that its unfair to welter Cotto. Ok, so drop the belt if too small/weak to defend it.
So they removed Andre ward and they put Golovkin in #10.
But in the middleweight rankings Cotto is the Ring Champion.. How can something like this happen? Cotto is above Golovkin in the Middleweight rankings but Golovkin is above Cotto in the P4P list.. They screwed up
No matter how much we all know GGG is the real champion.

With your point, why doesnt GGG get credit for Knocking out Geale a former UNIFIED WORLD CHAMPION in 3 rounds, with your logic he should get FULL CREDIT which he clearly doesnt, I have a clue about boxing believe me im a hardcore fan and I know so many 19-18 year old prospects that will have great future one day..
