The stoppage was unnecessary 50 seconds before the end. Chudinov was still able to protect himself. Eubank was not physically stronger, but has an unbelievable work rate and of course more tools in his posession.
It was about a minute too late, Chudinov took about three dozen punches without reply, badly cut over both eyes and hadn't been in the fight for a few rounds. Just because he could hold his hands up didn't mean he could defend himself properly.

I dunno, for me it should have been stopped about 30 secs - 1 min into the last round, Chudinov cut over both eyes badly and had nothing in his punches left. He didn't need to take another minute of power shots., let alone two minutes if the ref had let it go all the way. Brave fighter, but eye cuts and too many headshots are not good for anyone when they were already way behind on points.

Apart from his heart, it was very disappointing. Lets see what his brother does against Sturm.

Yes, but how people who saw his fights before could expect more from him? Dmitry never looked more than a very limited, average fighter.

Fact that he got hit so much , tells you he was /is one tough guy , but it also tells you that maybe Eubanks does'nt have the power for the real top level , , ,

He does have volume to compensate the relative lack of power ...

yes that is a problem he hit Billy Joe Saunders quite a bit and he was unmarked after the fight.

To be fair i think it's more likely Chudinov and Saunders have very good punch resistance. I dont believe Eubank has concussive power, i do believe he packs a meaningful punch though it's just that he's so reliant on being unorthodox that he doesn't actually maximise it.

He has to think through everything he is doing in the ring, and desn't have the natural instincts to let punches flow, everything is a little forced hence why his mouth is generally open from the 4th onwards.

Off the back of his last 2 performances he is top 20 in the division, but he needs to stay at this kind of level to continue to learn and improve if he is to really create a successful career.

Spada, Blackwell, Macklin, Vera type fighters that are honest durable pro's that will give him the rounds and experience he needs at a good level.

I thought the stoppage was way too late to be honest. Chudinov was throwing nothing back and getting pummeled. There was no way he was going to win the fight, why subject the guy to further punishment.

I have come to the conclusion that referee's are just shit.

90% of Eubanks punches were hitting gloves, and Chudinov was never down or looked wobbly. He had just 50 seconds to go and obviously wasn't willing to resign, and he could be given an opportunity to not have a KO on his record.

I have to say this result is pretty shocking after the performance Eubank put in against Saunders.

I was a bit surprised at how comfortably Eubank Jr won, but if he's going to get anywhere he has to deal with opponents like Chudinov. By far the best win on his record, needs another step up next, hopefully John Ryder or Nick Blackwell.

Ryder or Blackwell would not be steps up. The reason Eubank didn't beat Saunders was that he wasn't doing much in the first 6 rounds. If he wants to step up, he needs to fight somebody like Murray, Geale, Lee, Heiland. Protected Haymon fighters like Quillin, Jackobs, Taylor will be avoiding Eubank at all costs.

Ryder and Blackwell are better than Chudinov, therefore they would be step ups. He didn't beat Saunders because Billy Joe boxed his ears off for the first 6 rounds, he wasn't good enough to beat him and he never will be until he learns to do something other than throw wild combinations.

Eubank/Murray next would actually be really good. After this performance I'm actually kind of more interested in seeing Eubank again than Saunders.

Chudinov is limited, but he would kill Ryder and Blackwell, as they are mediocre. Eubank was fooling around/playing a star in the first 6 rounds with BJS. I he started throwing his 6/8-punch combinations right away, he would destroy Saunders.

Chudinov is slow, crude and walks forward in straight lines without moving his head, he can barely throw a punch properly ffs. Eubank had fornicate all clue what to do when faced with someone that could box, because he can't throw a jab or a straight right properly, control distance and his footwork's awful. His combinations are wild swings, they're not going to catch Saunders, who can box a lot better than he did in the first fight.

I watched most of the fight yesterday and I can't say my confidence has been reinstalled in Eubank Jr since the defeat to Billy Joe Saunders.
Although I see Chris as more of a puncher he's not close to being a high level concussive one who could potentially inflict damage at will to any of the higher ranked boxers at this stage.
His boxing ability as a whole isn't below par but it's not his strong point either, yes he can throw a multitude of different punches on the attack but generally he seems limited.
His conditioning and overall physical being is very good I have confidence that he will be well prepared in most of his fights.
But I'm starting to lean toward his father playing a big role in his corner, yesterday it didn't seem right and at times Eubank Jr looked borderline pissed off ... was that me ?
If young Chris continues with the boxing ability he has currently massed and doesn't bring in someone new I'm going to speculate that things may become a lot worse before they can better.

I was very impressed by Eubank. I think some people are underestimating his power. Saunders didn't really get caught by anything until the later rounds, and is a far classier opponent than Chudinov. He was incredibly durable, but didn't show anything that would trouble a top level fighter. His CV wasn't exactly hot coming into the fight.

I do think Eubank has some very good qualities, but I don't think people should be looking at the guy thinking he is now a world beater. I would like to see him fight one of Korobov, Heiland, Murray, or Stevens in his next fight. He is a couple of good fights away from a World Title bid.

Lets see Chudinov vs Murray... both with plenty of heart! Both will need a win, after those defeats!
