CAN ANYBODY HELP?

I am trying to track down the first name of a retired boxer called Martinez.
I know he had a career spanning 12 years and was middleweight champion in North Africa and possibly France.
He was probably boxing in the 1950s as his sons - actors Olivier and Vincent Martinez- are both in their late 30s.
I believe he was born in Spain, then moved to Algeria and Morocco before ending up in Paris.
Does anyone have a clue about who this could be?

The 1951 RRB lists a Bartolome Marti as Spanish lightweight champion.
During 1950, the only year listed, he fought four times in Paris and twice
in Tunis, in addition to Bordeaux, Geneva and Johannesburg. There is a
notation that his early record is unavailable. This could be your man.
