May-Pac undercard

Post by MP »

Does anyone know if any of the undercard fights should be exciting? I've never seen any of them fight. Should any of them be good fights? And do any of the fighters have any chance of being a future world champion (in your opinion)?

Lomachenko and Santa Cruz are both world-class fighters but both fights are easy setup fights against no-hopers.

Santa Cruz is a talented and exciting fighter, but is he ever going to make a real title defense?

All his opponents are at least 50-1 underdogs, and it's not because Santa Cruz is considered an ATG.

I see that designated opponent Jose Cayetano has lost 2 of his last 4 bouts, including his latest match---a one-sided defeat to the dreaded Enrique Bernache.
Quite a resume to warrant a title shot.

Somehow Santa Cruz is only listed as a 100-1 favorite.
In comparison, Lomachenko is a relatively light 50-1 choice in his undercard bout.

I hope no one dozes off during the scintillating undercard and misses the main event.

Yeah, undercard is pretty weak.

Gonna be A LOT of dead air before the main event starts.

Not trying to be difficult. But I disagree. Think the undercard is fine

Why waste a high profile matchup when all that anyone cares about is floyd/manny

As far as lopsided opposition. I think it's great idea as well

This is gonna get millions of viewers ,even for undercard

Building up Santa cruz & lomachenko is easier with average viewers seeing them walk over and dominate another fighter

Don't need them going 12 rounds with another skilled fighter

Look at pac Bradley 2 I think it was. 4 12 round fights , not one knockdown. That's not the type of fights the average joe wants

I think they could have got better guys and still accomplished building Lomo and Santa Cruz up.

But, I get what you are saying.

Don't agree with it but it's a decent take.

Thanks for the info.
That sucks that none of the fights are worthwhile. I wish they could've spared 1% of their purse for the boxing community to get behind some strong up-and-comers. But, I guess those days of great undercards on PPV ended in the early 90s.

The Santa cruz situation is just plain sad this guy has the potential to be one of the most exciting guys in his division, yet his prime years are being wasted away fighting cans.

Frampton and Quigg would handily take care of Leo IMO

Nope.

Frampton would be a tougher fight but Leo beats him to.

Isnt Quigg fighting Nonito?

Donaire will light his ass up do doubt in my mind.

Both Frampton and Quigg are grossly overrated on these boards.
