It was ugly but it was clear

Post by BoxingClinic2 »

and it can be put to rest. Fanatical pac fans can really keep quiet now and floyd fans (myself included) do not talk to much ish...

ps . 118-110 is outrageous...

I didn't think it was that clear at all. I had it closer. 10-2 is a bit of a joke

Three rounds up to Floyd. Both past their best.

As I said it would be comfortable for Floyd. Anybody that has watched their careers knows that both are past their best but Pacquiao deteriorated more.

Why didn't Max Kellerman ask Floyd why he had to tangle and run so much?

Yeah, glad to see this place hasn't changed too much in my time away lately. I feel like I spent years trying to convince guys like Ricky of things he just didn't want to see regarding Floyd. Funny thing is, I actually really wanted Manny to win. That being said, being about as generous as I could to Manny, I had him winning four rounds.

I felt it was pretty clear. Not Jim Watt building a bronze statue of Floyd and worshiping at it like the altar of the new god clear (I felt the British commentary a little strange), but clear.

The British commentary was fecking horrible. Carl Froch sounded punchdrunk as well.

It goes without saying, the US commentary was 'tarded.

Agreed, bloody awful.

They spend five hours creaming their pants over Mayweather then in the last five minutes they go on about how floyd doesn't take risks when choosing his opponents. Well which one is it? He's either amazing or a fraud (by that reckoning) which one?

Crap coverage all the way through for me.

Froch is probably tossing himself off in a toilet. He did knock out groves in front of 80,000 at Wembly though. not sure he's mentioned that. ;;-)

I'm glad it wasn't just me. The British feed was all I could get in a stable manner, and I kept thinking: "am I stupid, or are these guys a bit off?"

I mean, I could still be stupid of course, but I'm glad I wasn't the only one to interpret the British crew that way.

116-112 is how I saw it. It was clear who the superior boxer was.

Totaly agree. Floyd got massive probs for clinching and spoiling, yet manny got bitched about for not throwing enough punches. For me both fighters didn't do enough, rubbish fight, floyd won, but both should of taken some stick for that pile of crap

One of the easiest fights Floyd has ever had, the scores should've been much farther apart, the stupid judges scoring 116-112 must have been watching some other fight and Manny was just a sore loser stating that he thought he won, lol.

He must have been the only one who thought he won.

What part of this post makes you go doh?? Floyd won it easily and PacTURDS can't handle the truth, I'm waiting for y'all to start making excuses.

This fight was even remotely close.

Fight was what should have been expected. Typical Floyd fight. I enjoyed it. I was a little disappointed with Mannys attitude after the fight. Came across as a very sore loser and also saying the reason he didn't punch more was because Mayweather moved too much. wtf. This is boxing Manny. Anyways the fight will be remembered more fondly As time passes and hopefully we don't have to hear much from those mainstream pacquiao ufc type fans and boxing will probably go back to niche status.

First and last post for another couple of years.

close fight. no UD in my opinion. i had some even
rounds SD either way or draw.

i found it interesting to watch in the first half, but
then it was really boring. manny was too inactive
in the championship rounds. freddie's game plan
was in the end too cautious. i liked their strategy
until mid fight, but then expected more activity.

118:110 reflects how much floyd made defensive
and to an extent inactive boxing popular. one thing
surprised me: rounds didn't turn around.

all in all the most boring fight in manny's career and
floyd's style would not have been appreciated fifty
years ago, so "TBE" seems a far stretch.

in the end. somewhat interesting, but by far not worth
the hype. floyd ducked manny long enough. very smart,
as usual.

I had it 117-111 Floyd, but I have no problem with any of the cards. Floyd made it his fight and Manny didn't have the output to trouble him much apart from the 4th and the 6th, though I did think that some of the rounds were closer than the commentary suggested.

I was kind of hoping hoping that with the split HBO/Sho announcing team and dual unofficial scorers from each network, that we would get 2 completely contrasting views/scores, one side scoring and cheering for their guy, and the other side doing the same.
Given the vested interest on both sides, it would have been funny to hear them argue though the whole fight.
I think the fact that the HBO guys scored it against their guy gives at least a little bit of credence to the official result, that is if you didn't see the fight with a non biased heart and saw a Pac win because its hurts so badly to do otherwise..
