BoxRec, please let the results of this poll be directive!

change is good.
Re: Poll: New BoxRec or old BoxRec
.."up to 2 options"? that makes a hell of a lot of sense...

Change for the sake of change is a sign of chaos.

Re: Poll: New BoxRec or old BoxRec
new boxrec has more disadvantages than advantages (but have some). how about combine new and old one with all of those advantages?
Re: Poll: New BoxRec or old BoxRec
Please bring back the KOs. Ie. 17(14)-3(1)
I realize KOs aren't "with it" or in vogue.
But some of us old men like KNOCKOUTS!

Improvement is good, and I think in this case it is improvement. Even if the vast majority don't.man wrote:change is good.

So far 3 out 4 prefer the old format. New layout is painful to read.

I'm use to it now.No problems finding what I want.
At first it was inconvenient but after a while it is back to business as usual.

Just keep it the way it is. The cry babies will learn to live with it or leave.

when i am doing a design i encounter a certainTony1244 wrote:Not always. Not in this case.man wrote:change is good.
problem. after a certain amount of work and
complex changes, it is difficult to judge anymore
whether a change makes a thing more beautiful.
my brain is simply tiring out of this particular
piece and doesn't see it correctly anymore. so
at this stage it is difficult to change anything for
the better, cause my judgement regarding beauty
is impaired.
but there is a proxy for the "beauty"-judge and
that is the "what was lastt"-judge. if i hold the
change next to the original i can judge which
one was done last (of course abstracting from
my actual knowledge which actually was last).
this last one is always the more beautiful one too,
but in my brain this "what was last"-judge is tiring
out later than the "beauty"-judge.
on the site here i am so much used to the old
design that i am not objective anymore, which
is kind of the same as when i worked on a design
for too long. but i can tell which one came last
and this is definitely the current one. which means
it is the more beautiful too. so the change was for
the better.

Expect some (many?) of the former features/look to return...soon. Everyone, please be patient.dagilechia wrote:new boxrec has more disadvantages than advantages (but have some). how about combine new and old one with all of those advantages?

The new format, while more colorful and "prettier", is much much harder to read info from quickly, and some of it isn't even there at all. Why is it that "change" always seems to be change for the worst?

Re: Poll: New BoxRec or old BoxRec
I'm almost positive the new format has got Kleenex sales up by at least a few points.
Re: Poll: New BoxRec or old BoxRec
It's just difficult to read and decipher comfortably. I'll concede that the menu is good, maybe even better but the plain layout of the fighters records gives me a brain freeze every time I look at it. The older format is 100X better. It's just not presented in a pleasing way. The old design was genius. I say keep the menu and the new features but the layout has to go. 75% of the people agree that the old "look" is better. I think that speaks volumes.
That said, I just want BoxRec people to know, I love the site and am so glad it exists. I respect what they do and if it became a pay site, I would readily pay. I'm simply giving my honest assessment that I have now shown that the substantial majority agree with.

Re: Poll: New BoxRec or old BoxRec
The older format was easier on the eyes but I think the easier search engine and the extra info make it worth it. The ops should just work on the coloring of the records pages to make it a little less jarring.

I'm starting to get used to the new formula... And the historical records a re a lot more in depth than what they used to be.

Notwithstanding your philosophical poetry and prose, I really miss the 17(15) KO Data, and I also miss looking up upcoming fights in a specific weight division without it being narrowed down to some BS "title."man wrote:when i am doing a design i encounter a certainTony1244 wrote:Not always.
