Yes it was a truly great fight. Not being an Ali fan I often forget about this one and what a true classic battle it was. Joe was amazing that fight,

A truly great fight, but I think it was too high brow for the non boxing fan to appreciate the subtlety & nuances.

You need a fight that was almost amateurish with knock downs and/or blood & guts to truly grip non boxing fans, I believe.

Hagler -v- Hearns is a good one in that respect because it was short & it was like a street fight, but with boxing gloves & a referee. :P

There's a pretty obscure fight that I watched recently (it was recommended to me) - Ray Mancini vs Orlando Romero - I'd recommend it to anyone. Good, good fight.

Yes. Ray Lampkin was no joke. He gave Manos de Piedra all he could handle. They went toe to toe at incredible pace

benn v mclellan and chavez v taylor, under no circumstances show nelson v de leon

Benn vs Mclellan would put a lot of non boxing fans off boxing. It's a fight I've never seen twice. Horrible fight.

I watched it again recently and it was quite tough viewing,i dont think i'll watch it again

I watched it again recently as well - think it was the first time I sat down and rewatched the entire fight since the event itself. Agree it was very hard viewing, particularly the commentary which clearly missed all the signs of McLellan showing distress. Obviously we have the benefit of hindsight now so can't criticise too much - but I really think people are much more on the ball & knowledgeable about the signs of brain injuries these days, probably as a direct result of that fight.

And, despite being tough viewing at times, it really does stand up as a great fight.
