There's numerous switchers in OZ & not only during the fight. If they sense opponent can't handle Southies, that's the stance they'll adopt for the whole fight. Such was the case on a recently streamed show. I need to go thru my notepad to recall the guys name.

Mundine has been in prep for Trout all year so it shouldn't matter too much if he is a Southpaw

I don't recall Mundine ever fighting a quality southpaw. That's part of the reason I raised the fact Hatley seems to prefer fighting right foot forward.

Who are the southpaws Mundine has fought? The very limited Marc Bargero, the glacially slow Alavarez who never fought again afterwards and the 41 year old Bronco McKart. They are the only southpaws I can think of.

If Charles Hatley isn't better than that lot I'd be surprised.

Who was Mundine working with who could possibly have simulated the slick southpaw Trout is and the competitive southpaw Hatley probably is? Would love to hear some names?

Hatley is a bulldog with same attitude as Katsidis i.e. Til death do us part. However, whilst fights were allowed to go the distance in Texas, they might not be allowed in sunny Melbourne. I'll post the reason on the day of the fight.

If Dr Peter Lewis is on the job, he'll rule & overrule anyone and anyone.

Who could possibly have simulated a young hungry hard punching RabchenKO
Trout & Hatley ain't perfect enough to call them slick, they have both been caught by average boxers as has Mundine, Choc won't wanna fade in this fight

Austin Trout is slick enough to have beaten Cotto comfortably and gave Canelo a better contest than the scorecards suggested.

How do you think Trout would fare against the southpaws Mundine has fought?

Trout beat Rigberto Alvarez in close enough to a shutout and would towel up Marc Bargero and the 41 year old Bronco McKart who Mundine fought.

Looking at some of Hatley's fights I'd be surprised if he couldn't beat Rigberto Alvarez and McKart, and I know he would beat Bargero.

That's the point I was raising earlier. In 53 fights Mundine has not fought a quality southpaw.

Brian Amatruda said the mail is Cotto vs Canelo in late November will be for Mayweather's title should he retire and relinquish it.

Trout dominated Hernandez. Stopped him in the final seconds of the 6th and then called out Julian Williams.

Probably fair to assume Anthony Mundine is off his radar permanently.

Jamie Cox - who was originally to fight Sergey Khomitsky - will now instead fight Spanish number 1 Mariano Hilario.

Still all quiet on Soliman vs Khomitsky. But Brian Amatruda hinted at a big announcement of some sort early to mid next week. Perhaps that's what it will be?

All quiet in the build-up to this fight. Not even a press conference to announce the main event. No official mention of the undercard so far either.

Mundine vs Charles Hatley - confirmed.

Sam Soliman vs Sergey Khomitsky ??

Billy Dib vs Jack Asis ??

Anthony Buttigieg vs Samuel Columbine ??

WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman has confirmed the organization will wait for the official announcement of Floyd Mayweather’s retirement before deciding whether to direct specific fights be made to decide the titles, or alternatively if tournaments are the best approach.

In the junior middleweight division it seems likely Cotto vs Canelo will contest the title on November 21st - regardless of Mundine holding the WBC silver belt - but only time will tell on that.

Excellent point.

Brian Amatruda predicted on radio last week that the winner of Cotto vs Canelo could fight the winner of Mundine vs Hatley for "the title."

Not sure if Brian had his wires crossed? Perhaps he thinks the winner of Mundine vs Hatley will go up a division? Then again, Cotto isn't that comfortable at middleweight anyway? So perhaps Brian thinks he'll come down again?

Who knows? Only passing it on the way I heard it :OhYes:

WBC waiting until November to make a decision on their belts.

The reality is: The WBC is not going to risk losing a Mayweather sanctioning fee should he decide to fight again.
Even if they do strip him in November they will also declare him "champion emeritus" so he can fight for their title if he ever returns.

They plan on either ordering the top two contenders to fight for their belt or have a tournament.
Regardless of what they choose it means the WBC will not be sanctioning Mundine/Hatley for their title.

Perhaps Renold Quinlan ??
Still negotiating
Obviously Soliman vs Khomitsky never did get made. But Soliman vs N'Dam is a far bigger opportunity for Sam anyway.

So as of today we have >>>

Anthony Mundine vs Charles Hatley - 12 rounds
Anthony Buttigieg vs Samuel Colomban - 8 rounds
Tim Hunt vs Darren Askew - 6 rounds
Kane Watts vs TBA
Willis Meehan vs TBA

and logically there will be at least another bout to be added.

Where and when did any one claim that Mundine V Hatley would be for the 154 WBC world title ?.

Been through previous posts, can't see where anyone suggests Mundine V Hartley will be for the WBC 154 world title.

Claims were certainly made and probably early in the piece before Hatley had even been announced as the opponent. This was a gem >>>
