I guess this is the point at which people watch the face off thing and start trying to read into who has got 'under their skin' as if the fight will be affected in any way by a silly promotional eyeballing

I've been splitting my betting profit in half over the last week and will continue up to fight night. Half in my pocket, half on Wlad inside the distance at 6/5. Had a few drunken wins across different accounts so not quite sure how much is on

What I am not seeing much of in this thread is the distinct possibility that wlad goes to the well this time and finds it has run dry. He is old and has a lot of miles on the clock. A prime wlad beats a prime Tyson fury but wlad may be on the decline and we only find out on fight night. I think there is a fair chance of this happening, and of the decline really starting to count once the fight has gone past the first few rounds. Tyson might just find himself in the right place at the right time.

This will go like most other Wlad fights, The oppoment will talk of doing this and that to him. Once they realise they cant get past his jab, and big straight shots and wehn they do they get Clinched, they all revert to survival mode.

It will just be a question if Wlad KO's him or is happy to have a one sided points victory, I dont want to sound negative against Wlad as he is a master of what he does and it is really really effective, Why fight any other way

Wlad will have to decline a hell of a lot to go down to the level of fury. What has fury done to suggest he can beat Wlad? What weakness has wlad shown recently to suggest he has declined enough to give fury a significant chance?

My answer to both is nothing

Wlad was able to intellectually bully Haye all the way through the build up. Wlad knew it and Fury knew it. Fury is acting crazy to dominate the situation and not to have the same fate...very smart.

However, Fury makes a lot of good points and obviously knows his boxing.

Won't win him the fight though I don't think!

Well, ultimately, we'll see on the night. I recently watched fury's rematch with chisora again, with the sound off, and was struck by how safety first he really is. He took no risks at all in that fight, and he didn't really exert himself that much either. For all the talk and hype, I think fury won't take many chances against wlad in the first half of the fight and if he can enter the second half of the contest unscathed, I think a combination of his natural size advantages and wlad's advanced years might start to tell. I could be totally wrong but I think a combination of the best ever Tyson fury and a wlad in decline could make for an interesting night. In terms of signs of wlad's decline i thought I saw subtle signs in his previous two fights but ultimately he was still too big for both opponents. And too good for them too, obviously. Personally speaking I don't really rate wlad but I think he has done an amazing job of fighting to his natural strengths and avoiding taking clean punches. Credit to him for what he has done but they don't go on forever. Talk of fury not punching hard enough to trouble wlad is laughable, wlad gets thorough entire fights without being hit clean once. We know what happens when he takes one clean. He is hardly jake Lamotta. I accept that wlad is very very good, fury certainly does make mistakes that could give wlad a clean shot to finish the fight in devastating fashion. I hope the fight gets to the half way stage, for me that is when it could get really interesting.

Well if a Pulev jab (who's no power puncher himself) can wobble Wlad then I'd say Fury could hurt Wlad too... If he connects cleanly.

Wlad only allowing 6 people (including Tyson) from the Fury side to the presser today and the weigh-in. No public allowed.

There also seems to be mandatory big-fight gloves dispute going on. Sure it'll get sorted.

I'd do the same if I were Wlad. I'd give passes to Mick Hennessey and Peter Fury as promoter and trainer respectively. Plus his father, mother and wife. The rest would do my head in with their hollering and japing - if I thought they'd behave I'd be more than happy to let his siblings in but some of them have history of having a lot to say for themselves.

His dad is the worst one. There have been far bigger weigh ins with far more potential to kick off that are still open to the public. Strange move from Wlad if he's worried Big Shane is going to shout at him. It's like banning Lee Froch, unthinkable...

Wlad hits far harder than anyone Tyson has faced and he does it consistently, Tyson will be brave but get broken down, around halfway.

It was actually advised by the local police. Peter confirmed this on Twitter. HBO are also not going to be calling the fight from ringside, and instead will be staying in the States due to safety concerns.

From about 10mins when MH talks about loyalty it shows some of Tyson Fury's good character.

Ive always gave Fury a chance of winning this but always predicted a Klitschko win but in the last couple of weeks ive changed my mind and fancy Fury to do it

Fury for all his antics is a very good boxer, technically very good especially for a HW,we have seen him over the years get careless, getting decked having toe to exchanges etc but more often than not when he's stepped up he's boxed very well to orders barely losing a round in the process, the Chisora fights,Johnson and Hammer fights were very composed and i think this will be the tactics for Wlad,

Tyson knows how to use his height and reach well and moves very well too, seems very comfy when fighting lefty and i think that might be used on saturday throughout,Wladimir for all his accomplishment is pretty basic, effective but basic, jab cross jab cross with loads of holding and leaning,i think Fury uses his legs to get away from Klitschko and not allowing him to spoil, its gonna be tough for Wlad to pull and lean on Tyson anyway with the height

Klitschko obviously has a great jab which is his best weapon but Fury has a great jab too,not as strong as Wlads but maybe faster,IMO Fury is the better boxer going into this fight,he does everything better than Klit but hasnt got Wlads power or experience

Still if Fury listens to Peter i think he'll box to a decision :box: :box: :box:

I thought Klitschko beat Jennings comfortably last time out but he never really imposed himself on Bryant and did seem to to struggle with his athletism

Fury for all his wild style in the past wont resort to desperation like Povetkin and Pulev IMO,he actually has the tools and mobility to outfox Wlad

OF course you worry if Wlad lands clean but i dont think Tyson wil get too involoved to give Klit the oppurtunity

I will be quite surprised if Fury beats Wlad by decision.

In his nearly 20 year career has anyone come close to outboxing Wlad for a sustained period, let alone over 12 rounds? My thinking with Wlad is also usually that if someone is hitting him enough to consistently have the advantage he's more likely to be stopped than decisioned. I'm curious to see how good Fury's skills look when he's not facing short, slow plodders without much power, because most of his reputation for being skillful is based on performances against those types and I think his team was aware that these fighters were made for him. Now I know that Wlad hasn't exactly fought loads of opponents like Fury, but I think he's been in with a greater range of opposition and is probably better prepared to deal with Fury than Fury is to deal with him.

If Fury wins I think it will be because he was able to get inside and work enough (his inside fighting is clearly superior and his engine seems fine) to wear down and tire out Wlad...in which case I expect a stoppage. Although I think Wlad will win I wouldn't be shocked if Fury pulled it out in this manner.

Can we just dispel this myth about Fury being a genuine switch-hitter? Have we all forgotten that the ref actually had to stop the Chisora rematch part way through because Fury wasn't throwing the jab correctly?

Not true. Chisora's corner pulled him out.

I think Wlad will start aggressively to prevent Fury from getting into a rhythm and will win by KO inside the first four rounds.
