Will you give Wladimir Klitschko credit if he defeats Tyson Fury?

Fury isn't crap. He's alright and bigger than Wlad which has people interested but I wouldn't say he is Wlad toughest fight in recent years. I personally would have backed Povetkin, Haye, Thompson 1 and Pulev to beat Fury.
Chisora, Cunningham and Johnson isn't enough of a record to go overboard with Klitchko when he wins. My main hope is that Wlad knows jabbing and clinching won't be easy in this fight so has a bit of his old school aggression back and looks to take out Fury early

Re: Will you give Wladimir Klitschko credit if he defeats Tyson Fury?
Here's a question: does Fury truly believe he will win? And if so, does he believe this because he has trained like hell and is stronger, fitter and more determined than ever? Or does he think he will win because he is Tyson Fury The Hard Man, who is undefeated?
If its the former, this could be really good. If its the latter, it could be Pulev-esque.
And I will give Wladimir credit, but I always have done.

Toughest test yet? Based on WHAT? How is he any better than Povetkin? Or Jennings? Or even Pulev? Guys Wlad has fought recently let alone over his entire career. Better than Haye too? Haye whacked out Chisora inside 4 rounds, and Chisora is arguably Fury's best win (along with cruiser Cunningham).Rexob wrote:Tyson is going to be his toughest test yet, I think the question should be, will Tyson Fury get the credit he deserve when he wins?
Fury is a big guy. That's where his advantages end. He's "taller". In terms of every other thing that goes on inside a boxing ring - he cant hold Wlad's ballstrap.

All I know is that none of you should plan a party around this fight.
If it is already too late, if you have already bought the steaks and chips and dip, go out and get one more thing.

So how do you figure Fury will see the final bell? You picked Wlad by decision in PTBF.diddy wrote:Toughest test yet? Based on WHAT? How is he any better than Povetkin? Or Jennings? Or even Pulev? I do not see any reason to give him much credit.
Wlad achievements are connected to longevity, consistency, number of defences, etc. rather than on a couple of great fights. A fight with Fury will just change his stats from twenty something to twenty something plus one defences in a row, but I would not expect a good show (and Fury is not amongst the best Wlad's opponent anyway)

Re: Will you give Wladimir Klitschko credit if he defeats Tyson Fury?
I think the toughest yet comment is because WK can't outreach Fury, can't lean all over him when gets close, can't keep out of his range and will be punching up at him (slightly), so all his usual advantages are gone. I'd also say Fury's biggest weakness is he walks onto overarm rights from much shorter men. That is less likely from Klitschko. I'd also question that Fury has ever been dumped hard, he's been sat down and has got straight up and it happens because he gets careless against smaller fighters. I don't see that happening here. He's also got a natural willingness to engage and fight that is needed against WK. Add into that he is becoming a better boxer, with much more rounded than traditional ramrod straight style and this is a tough fight. I'll have a lot of respect for WK if he wins this because I think Fury really believes in himself and is that worrying thing of a bit of a nutter who will take the fight to him, something else he hasn't had to deal with. Giving away best part of 15 years, height, reach, weight etc is a challenge. But equally I'll be impressed with Fury if he wins cos this is the best heavyweight of this generation and is always fit so age shouldn't be as much of a challenge.

I already give Wlad credit for every title defense, and credit as a Great Champion. So yes.

He'll get dropped more than enough to lose the fight. I didnt say he had no heart.Riddick Blowe wrote:So how do you figure Fury will see the final bell? Yes. Fury is among the best five in the world right now. He's a big man in his prime, who enters the match undefeated.Freedom2013 wrote:Will you give Wladimir Klitschko credit and respect if he defeats Tyson Fury?
Fury is an age 27, very confident, undefeated 6'9" heavyweight. He has an 85" wingspan, much of it in his long arms.
Klitschko is approaching his 40th birthday, is 6'6". He has an 81" wingspan, proportionally more of it in his shoulders rather than his shorter 26" arms.
If Wlad beats Fury, will you recognize it as a good win for the aging heavyweight champion?

Sure, why not? I've never seen this kid Fury fight but i've seen some video of him and he looks ok. I'm sure he's not nearly as good as he talks, he's a Brit so you know how that goes, but at the very least it would be great to see Fury get his head knocked off after all that yapping. And at best, we get a nice heavyweight fight out of it which is a nice change.
Re: Will you give Wladimir Klitschko credit if he defeats Tyson Fury?
I think Fury moves better and more coordinated with his legs than Jennings, who was getting to Vlad's body on the reg. I believe Bryant rocked Klitchko to the body too, and even those off balance lunges all night were still good enough to get there.
I'm in the minority but I think Fury is going to answer some questions about the Champ, like how does he handle not being able to hug and clinch when he's in trouble how's he gonna react against a similar size guy with actual athletic ability, How's he gonna handle a high workrate with a guy who came to fight? What does history show on that subject? Only one guy in this fight has quit before, maybe Fury deserves some respect. I know he'll get it in the ring, for all to see.
Fury looks like he's in the best shape of his life, the extra time helped him he's ready. I'm not predicting some huge victory, but it's going to be back and forth trust me.

I agree. I picked Wlad by KO7 I think in ptbf, but think I should change it to a decision win. Fury is definitely a live dog. At Wlad's age anything can happen.

Fury is very poor; his best wins are against Chisora who Haye dealt with easily, the rest of his resume is absolute garbage. He's clearly been kept deliberately away from big punchers as his camp know he's hugely vulnerable - he's in this fight for the payday, not to win.
The only way Wlad doesn't smash him up early is if he gets old overnight.

Ofcourse I do, Klitschko is simply better as all his predecessors, staying at rank one for such a long time is simply amazing.
His fights aren't nice to see, but he knows how to manipulate, he knows how to achieve the maximum result against all of his opponends and that's simply worth a big compliment.

And he still has love handles. Well, I guess Corrie Sanders carried some extra flab as well...
