Muhammad Ali vs Mike Tyson

Post by Davidreed »

What do you think that if there was a match between Muhammad Ali & Mike Tyson, then who will take the match? After thinking i have reach at a point between these two great boxers. So i will share an option with you that which option is much stronger.

1) Muhammad Ali punch taking recovery & his rope a dope techniques which takes opponents easily to 12 rounds match or even beyond this.

2) Swinging head capability & dodging ability of Mike Tyson which totally deceives his opponents punches.

There are many amazing differences between these two boxers and many skills on one another which i will like to hear from you....

Easy one to predict. The fight would go the same way as all of Tyson's fights against prime top level opposition who weren't intimidated by him (i.e. Douglas, Holyfield, Lewis) and that is a late stoppage to Ali

I reckon Ali would win this convincingly.

He's sharp enough to avoid Tyson early he'd then start using his jab to slowly dismantle Tyson and stop him in the mid-rounds.

He'd outbox him that much could quite easily see Tyson get frustrated and get a DQ

I think it could be a tough nights work for both men, there's no doubt in my mind about that one. However, for me there's a high probability that Ali would will by points or to a lesser degree a late TKO. Tyson's ferocity is often lauded (and rightfully so) but it often goes unmentioned that Mike had a tendency to take "minutes off" during rounds. He would come forward, throw a hook to the body and lean in to the clinch.

In Mike's defense, it's very nearly impossible to keep up such a high-tempo pace and maintain explosiveness all throughout fights, but somehow the likes of Rocky Marciano & Jack Dempsey were able to do it and they did it much better than Mike. Whilst I am a fan of Mike Tyson and I safely have him in my Heavyweight top 10, he did have a real weakness in that he used to get disheartened if his opponent was defiant and didn't show Mike that he was hurt.

With all that said, I'm going with Ali.

Buster Douglas took out a near prime, (if recently mislead) Tyson.......partly due to passion, courage, and partly due to intelligence.]

So.....IF both go in with everything they have at their command, I think it's a mismatch.

Ali would have to fight his stupidest fight in his entire prime....it would be his to lose. And in his prime, he always fought smart.

I think it would be best if he was allowed to fight Mike some years AFTER his fight with Cooper, and Liston I, places he received a good education.

Would surely want to schedule Tyson before his confidence losing loss to Douglas.
