2 of the 3 have never lost and Wlad was the HW champ for over a decade so like him or not that is a rare feat. If Wlad loses to Fury you will probably never hear from him again until he and Hayden get divorced. If he wins it will be interesting to see if he goes on or rides off into the sunset. I am not sure he does favorably versus any of the new up and comers.

so, just because someone wins means you can watch him and not bother yourself with ducking, holding, avoiding, cheating, head butting, leaning over, running.....hahaha thats so stupid.......watch a boring fighter, the fight sucks, but he wins hahaha..... :brick: what gives you when a fighter wins in a boring fashion, to me nothing

Ward and Wlad are still active boxers.

And are considered among the best in our era and maybe all time.

Of course there will be threads on them.

Mayweather IS the undisputed best of this era.

Like him, hate him, whatever. he is still be a topic for years after his last fight
the same way Leonard, Duran, Tyson, Ali and loads of other are.

It's only been a few months since his retirement...

What may be boring to you may not be to me.

I enjoy seeing a guy using excellent movement and blocking punches as much as anything.

To watch a guy like Benitez, or Sweet Pea, or Ali, or yes Mayweather basically
stand right in front of a guy or even walk him down and take little or no
punishment for it at all is, to me, the absolute best thing boxing is about.

well, why do you like these threads so much
that you do not only participate in them, but
actively promote by starting them?

He got you there, Chepster.

Why are you the leading poster of this stuff if you are so against it?

I understand you don't like holding.

No one does.

But when a lot of holding takes place in a bout, I don't simply blame the guy doing it

It is almost always more than that.

Sometimes a fighter is leading with his head, all the time.
I can't blame a fighter from reaching out and stopping that.

Also, some refs are just that bad. Can't blame a fighter for that.

But most of the time you see a lot of holding, the fault can be found in both corners.
If the fighter doesn't complain, and his corner doesn't complain then part of it is on them.

If they do complain, and the ref gives a good reason for allowing it- leading with the head,
using football-like rush in tactics, a guy illegally trying to foul inside- then it is up to the corner
and fighter to adjust so they are not the ones creating the situation.

The fighters you are talking about are among the many masters at bending these rules.
Ali and Holmes did it too. Lennox as well. Calzaghe elevated it to high art in some fights.

Holding is not a foul. Excessive holding is.

Right!!

It's sorta like this idiot the other day, I told him that he's trolling me and then he turns around and trolls behind me in an entirely different thread just to tell me that he isn't trolling me.

I guess it's a lot of this going on here on BR
