Arum knows that his boxing events are now numbered so I think that we'll see more of Top Rank vs. Top Rank fights so he can maximize both ends of the proceeds (Manny vs TB, Crawford vs Provo). Arums age and sharing proceeds, especially with AH, makes a Crawford vs Broner fight unlikely.

I can't tell you how much I dislike the idea of a Crawford vs. Provodnikov fight. I feel that Arum has really abused Ruslan's career. A novice boxing fan can see that Ruslan is not an elite boxer and shouldn't be in with elite fighters. But fans love his effort and heart the way we loved to watch Arturo Gatti just on a much smaller degree. It's been clear to me from the start that Arum views Ruslan as nothing more than a glorified sparring partner and a sacrificial lamb. Even Freddie Roach has neglected this kid often missing his largest fights to attend to training camps with his REAL boxers. I'm not saying that Ruslan would have more straps by now or even be up to the level of fame he currently sits but he'd surely have a lot more brain cells left and longer life span.

At this stage of the game, Ruslan needs to be intelligently paired with someone with similar ability and toughness in the hopes that an entertaining performance with the right dance partner might turn into a series of fights together that people would pay to see (See Gatti/Ward). This potential matchup with Crawford would be like shooting fish in a barrel. No one should want to see that. This kids been in enough wars and shouldn't just be thrown to the wolves like this against a killer like Bud. I hope someone starts taking care of Ruslan because to me, this is turning into an extremely sad tale that doesn't need to be. There's going to be a lot of people with blood on their hands when it's over and it's a shame. This kid deserves so much more.
