(Worth taking a look at)
Crease wrote:GROUP STAGE FINAL STANDINGS:

Group A
Evander Holyfield - 9 pts.
Mikkel Kessler - 4 pts.
Steve Cunningham - 3 pts.
Byron Mitchell - 0 pts.

Group B
Sven Ottke - 6 pts.
Nigel Benn - 4 pts.
Antonio Tarver - 3 pts.
Marvin Camel - 3 pts.

Note - Tarver beat Camel when they fought.

Group C
Dwight Qawi - 5 pts.
Carl Froch - 5 pts.
In-Chul Baek - 2 pts.
Anaclet Wamba - 2 pts.

Note - Qawi beat Froch & Baek beat Wamba in Week 27.

Group D
Graciano Rocchigiani - 6 pts.
Johnny Nelson - 5 pts.
Nate Miller - 3 pts.
O'Neil Bell - 1 pts.

Group E
Joe Calzaghe - 6 pts.
Gerald McClellan - 3 pts.
Guillermo Jones - 3 pts.
Chong-Pal Park - 2 pts.

Note - McClellan beat Jones when they fought.

Group F
Vassily Jirov - 9 pts.
Steve Collins - 4 pts.
Thomas Hearns - 3 pts.
James Warring - 0 pts.

Group G
Carlos DeLeon - 8 pts.
Marco Huck - 6 pts.
Victor Cordoba - 2 pts.
Taoufik Belbouli - 0 pts.

Group H
Andre Ward - 7 pts.
Michael Nunn - 2 pts.
James DeGale - 2 pts.
Robert Daniels - 2 pts.

Note - three-way ties are always hard to split. So I had to look at their performances against the dominant Mr Ward.
Daniels was removed from contention because he was KO'd, whereas the other two weren't.
And Nunn beat DeGale when they fought, so he progresses.

:witzend:

The fight that I feared the most. I thought that I would have been drawn against Joe, always confident of him winning his group and once Jirov took a commanding lead in my group, I suspected that it would come to pass.

Though I had a secret hope that one of the CPUs would upset Joe and slip into 1st in their group, but alas it falls upon Steve to meet the great Calzaghe once again.

Gomez can't unify, but if one of them drops the their title then it can happen.

Marco Huck has a real uphill battle against Andre Ward, but I like Carl's chances against Graziano

Orlin Norris vs T Adamek.....unless someone fancies a fight between their fighter and the guy who honestly just beat Wong Careless Goatmess.

Well, I figure at some point Collins has to win! He did pretty good in their first fight but has declined in their meetings since. Best of luck either way...... :TU:

I say we both donate our titles to charity...or the MDT.

Since the MDT had been going on, the title requirements have been loosened a lot. I wouldn't mind Gomez/Jones keeping their titles and unifying. They are two of the top guys this season. With the MDT tourney still going on, top notch challengers are at a premium anyhow.

Yep.....is it Super Middle Toney or LHW Toney? purely curious. I think Norris has a better shot at the heavier version, and Toney's best rating is at SMW correct?

Either way it's a go. Norris has been a pain for everybody, and never a pushover despite his low current ranking.

you know what, I think you're right and besides Gomez has defended countless titles while never losing so I think he is deserving of this opportunity, it can set up a huge grand unification bout with the MDT winner as well.

I think this is the right course of action for the sim. Hopefully you all agree.

looks like pretty much everyone is matched so I'll probably start this later tonight sometime.

The majority has spoken. We do relax the title fight rules during the MDT, so why not the unification rules?
