Cruz used to be pretty exciting to watch. I remember when he scored that KO fo the Year contender a few years back.

And this one vs Miranda.

Cruz has been kept active since his 2 back to back losses vs decent opposition who he defeated.

Valdez shouldn't be a problem at this point. He is cashing out vs Cruz...

Cruz has scored some nice KO's for a guy not generally thought of as a puncher.

Cruz has always been overrated. He managed to jump start his career publicity-wise by playing the gay card but he's never been more than a second or 3rd-tier fighter. Not surprised if it's over for him as far as being any kind of a TV draw, but you never know...he may be able to ride the gay sympathy thing for a few more years.

I don't think he's generally been considered more than a second or third tier fighter.

Agreed...the gay thing just got him some first-tier publicity for a while. If it wasnt for the gay thing he probably wouldnt have gotten a shot at Salido for a vacant world title.

If it encourages any athletes or even non athletes to come out then it will have been worth it,he might not be a world beater but neither are 70% of world title challengers so he's hardly rare in that sense
